And if the administration bans socks, I’m sure that the students will be inventive enough to create another “weapon”. Perhaps underwear? Reminds me of one bored little boy at Wal-Mart shooting thongs from the lingerie section like rubberbands. Surely no college administration can ban underwear.
Actually, the ones who are drinking themselves blind and incapable are the Greek types, who aren’t into “silly games”. The games are played by the more physically active geek types. They aren’t theoretically exclusive, but as a matter of fact they are.

Your right my brothers in TKE didn’t mess around with nerf guns. We played full tackle capture the flag. We did this on the front lawn of the university administration building. Alcohol helped dull the pain until morning. Campus police would just drive by and shake their heads.
When thongs are outlawed, only outlaws will wear thongs.
