Hentoff = a Liberal who actually has a brain. (And a conscience.)

Obama lacks a backbone

So THAT's why he bows to everyone in sight!

This is an eye opener. I was curious what the "honest" liberals are thinking now.

Camille Paglia has been critical of Obama's advisers, but can't seen to direct her ire directly at Obama. Now that Hentoff has taken off the gloves, maybe other honest liberals will join suit.

"However, I never thought that Bush himself was, in any sense, "evil." I am hesitant to say this about Obama. Obama is a bad man in terms of the Constitution. The irony is that Obama was a law professor at the University of Chicago. He would, most of all, know that what he is doing weakens the Constitution."

That's it right there.

This is an excellent article. Thank you for posting.

If kids were educated at school instead of being molded into liberal PC sheep we most likely wouldn’t be in this mess with a hollow man at the helm.

The thing about zero and the Constitution is he made it clear he didn’t think the Constitution is good enough - Obama believes he knows better than the founding fathers.

The arrogance--the destructive arrogance--of this man amazes me.

I wonder if he was canned by the Village Voice because they knew he would go after Obama?

Thanks, O. TOO TRUE !! Mouthfuls .. reams of raw, unabashed truth.

"However, I never thought that Bush himself was, in any sense, "evil." I am hesitant to say this about Obama. Obama is a bad man in terms of the Constitution.

The irony is that Obama was a law professor at the University of Chicago. He would, most of all, know that what he is doing weakens the Constitution.

In fact, we have never had more invasions of privacy than we have now. The Fourth Amendment is on life support and the chief agent of that is the National Security Agency.

The NSA has the capacity to keep track of everything we do on the phone and on the internet. Obama has done nothing about that. In fact, he has perpetuated it. He has absolutely no judicial supervision of all of this.

So all in all, Obama is a disaster."

Hentoff is a classic. He has seen the left achieve its power and hit the ceiling of victory. Now their good causes; the Civil Rights Movement, et al. has evolved into fascism protected by the curtain of political correctness tyranny. The old liberals have to see things first if new coalitions are to be built.

Being a prof at UofChicago is not exactly the same as any other school. The position was likely awarded by Valerie Jerrett and a form of Graft like Angry Michelle’s UofChicago hospital job. Lotta scratching going on at the school.

He is. I sometimes disagree with him on some points, but he is one of the old-line Democrats who were not enemies of the country. His party has left him behind.
