Union protection is likely the reason she didn’t lose her job.
We don’t know that she didn’t get fired. I expect she probably did. Unions have a lot of perfectly good laid off workers these days — no need to protect one like this while others are out of work. And if she can’t control her mouth with passengers, she’ll probably mouth off to union officials too, and then you can be sure they won’t have any interest in protecting her.
