TRENTON -- Gov.-elect Chris Christie is to begin introducing his cabinet today by announcing Essex County Prosecutor Paula Dow as the state's next attorney general, according to an official familiar with Christie's decision.

What an idiot. Trying to be inclusive?
Damn it Christie. Way to give the finger to every Republican prosecutor in the state, none of them are right for the job? You gotta pick a rat? They’ve held that office for 8 years I presume. You don’t want to clean it up?
The case for Christie not being a RINO just got slimmer.
“Change” looks a lot like more of the same....
It’s STILL New Jersey. Same as it ever was.
Just like Ahhnold here in California. He surrounded himself with liberal Democrat appointments me made from the get go. His chief of staff is a liberal democrat lesbian.
hmm, anyone know Paula Dow’s resume? I liked the fact that Springsteen threw a hissy fit because Christie didn’t share his views on being a homo...I mean, gay issues.
The fat putz bends over already for the DEMOM establishment. Imagine if he appointed a strict conservative and said he needed to help balance the injustice of having Eric Holder as Osamas AG
Oh, geez. Not again. Pubs just never learn. Never.
The Dem AG’s first and only order of business will be to open investigations of the man who appointed him.
Meet the new corruption, same as the old corruption.
At least Soros must be happy.
CHRISTIE....you are an IDIOT!!!! I am disappointed already!!
If you read the rest of the article, it doesn’t sound like Dow is a partisan Democrat or anything of the sort (although she is a registered Democrat). She worked in-house at Exxon from 2000 to 2007, then became a federal prosecutor in the civil division Manhattan (when the U.S. Attorney was a Reagan appointee), then headed to the criminal division of DOJ in New Jersey in 1994 (she worked with Chris Christie for years) and when McGreevey named her as Essex County Attorney (not the guy I would have wanted my AG to have been nominated to anything by, but it should be noted that Dow doesn’t hold an elective position in Essex so she hasn’t run for office as a Democrat) she was opposed by corrupt Democrat Mayor Sharpe James of Newark. So I’m going to hold off judgment on Christie for now. While I agree that appointing a registered Democrat such as Dow to a position as sensitive as AG could be evidence of bad political instincts by Christie, Christie worked with her for years and surely knows more about her than we do. Let’s wait and see.
....as is the first comment.
I think I'll keep my powder dry for the moment.
Read it, and if that comment is any indication of where the new administration is going, it’s bidness as usual in the Cesspool State.
FWIW, I don’t give a rat’s back end any more about the letter after someone’s name. But that comment, if true, is hair-raising. Given that NJ’s such a cesspool, I wonder why Chrisite couldn’t have picked someone from outta state. Is there a residency requirement for these positions?
Actually, that’s not a bad idea getting someone from out of state (however, at least with some in-state people, they tend to know where the bodies are buried). You’d have to check the NJ Constitution (yeah, as IF that’s ever followed anymore) to see about residency requirements. For the Gov and legislature (and Congress), obviously, but I have no idea about appointees themselves.
PAULA DOW UNCOVERED
6 Suspects Indicted in Newark Schoolyard Killings
FoxNews | Sept 15, 2008
NEWARK, NJ Three men and three teenagers were indicted on murder and other charges for the execution-style slayings that shocked New Jersey's largest city. The grand jury charged all six suspects, who have reputed links to the vicious latino MS-13 street gang, with murder, attempted murder, robbery and weapons offenses related to the Aug. 4, 2007 killings.
Essex County Prosecutor Paula Dow said the indictments took a year because charges against the three teens were upgraded from juvenile to adult court.
Those indicted were Rodolfo Godinez, 25; his 17-year-old brother, Alexander Alfaro; Jose Lachira Carranza, 29; Melvin Jovel, 19; Shahid Baskerville, 16; and Gerardo Gomez, 16. Baskerville and Gomez were both 15 at the time of the killings.
The six suspects are accused of killing Iofemi Hightower, Terrance Aeriel and Dashon Harvey. The three Afro-Americans were college students hanging out behind the school when they were killed. The savages used machetes, and actually cut off one victims face. One survived. --SNIP--
ANALYSIS News reports conveniently failed to report the atrocious actions of the Newark justice system, headed by Paula Dow, just prior to the savage killings of these innocent youngsters.
ITEM Asst Prosecutor Margarita Rivera and Superior Court Judge Thomas Vena are the PC nitwits who freed killer Carranza. Prior to the killings, Judge Vena aided and abetted the release of child rapist Carranza (who was in custody charged with 32 counts of child rape). Carranzas release was encouraged by Asst prosecutor Margarita Rivera who was handling Carranza's child rape cases--RIVERA WAS FULLY AWARE OF THE CHARGES AGAINST CARRANZA.
CAUGHT ON TAPE Video aired on MSNBC-TV showed Judge Vena asking Carranza for his SS no. Carranza lies (to game the system), "I don't have it." On-camera, Rivera clearly facilitates Carranza's lies----Rivera chimes in that child predator Carranza didn't have a SS no.
(waiting for hysterical laughter to die down)
ITEM Even dummies like Vena and Rivera must know Killer Carranza has several SS no's and multiple identities to defraud the US government to collect numerous tax-paid benefits (a common practice with Third World illegals).
ITEM Newark prosecutor Paula Dow knew too, and should have done the job she gets paid for---to protect the public from criminals. Dow should have overruled Rivera and kept Carranza locked up.
Newark Mayor Corky Booker should have kicked Rivera, Vena and Dow out of the justice system. These people corrupted the system and let killer Carranza roam free.
Dolts with law degrees. The rancid odor of affirmative action fouls the air.
Huckster's career's all but finished based on paroling a monster who'd go on to become a multiple cop killer.
But in New Jersey the individual responsible for an equally insidious decision, if not breathless incompetence, is appointed AG??
HTH does this happen, if not out-and-out corruption obviously the result of a seedy smoky backroom deal?
An R doesn’t mean one is good but a D means a 99% chance they’re a piece of crap.
Not as bad as I first thought but still not a good sign.
Or maybe it as as bad as I first thought.
Google “Tom Kean”+”Paula Dow” OR
Kean+”Paula Dow” and you will expose the Tom Kean connection with this leftwing liberal Democrat from Essex County.
Mr. Kean SNR and Mr. Kean JNR BOTH went out of their way to SINGLE OUT the appointment of Ms. Dow by Chris Christie.
This, I believe, is no accident. Its my belief that Little Tommy Kean Jnr., leading RINO in New Jersey, is planning a future run for Governor or the U.S. Senate, where he can continue his father’s Limousine Liberal Rockefeller Republican Policies. In orer to do so, support from the large county of Essex in New Jersey would help him immensely.
So much for Mr. Christie’s “Conservative” exterior.
