Tester: Reform ‘saves lives, saves money, saves Medicare’ (rumpswab, MT)
Jon Tester US Sen MT ^ | 12.21.09 | Tester

Posted on 12/24/2009 4:29:05 AM PST by This_far

ON, D.C.) – Senator Jon Tester today made a powerful case for health care reform by sharing personal stories from Montanans with other lawmakers on Capitol Hill.

Tester announced he will vote for the Senate’s health care reform bill because it “saves lives, saves money and saves Medicare” using common sense and fiscal responsibility.

And, Tester added, the bill cracks down on insurance companies, preventing them from denying people who get sick or have pre-existing conditions.

“Right now, we are all paying far too much for health insurance,” Tester said during a speech on the Senate floor. “Many of us can’t get health insurance at all. And even worse, insurance companies don’t always live up to their end of the bargain.”

Tester told his colleagues that as a farmer, he and his wife had to drop their own health insurance decades ago because they couldn’t afford it after the birth of their first child.

Insurance, insurance, insurance.... they think that's why health care is so expensive.

We should counter with Senators, Senators, Senators.... that's why we're out of work and everything else is so expensive.

Future former senator Tester is a embarrassment to Montana along with Max Baucus.

Sen. Tester was the 51st vote cast and the final vote needed to pass obamacare by a simple majority.

Montana will not forget this!

That light shinning in the east this Christmas Eve is a giant crap storm headed for the people of the US in the form of health reform. Now the senators can wing their magical way off to whatever exotic destinations for Christmas and the New Year, comfortable in the knowledge they will be protected from any hordes of the unwashed stupid masses (in their views) inasmuch as they will be coddled through any air port crowds by a phalanx of SS guards.

They spit on the graves of those who have served and in the face of those who are serving for this State, other States and the Nation’s Freedom.

I thought Tester might vote NO so he could say “I voted against it,” but I guess he realized that would just focus more attention, which is not what he should be seeking right now.

Last time around Montana was written off by the national powers that be -- both in the media and the GOP as a democrat win because the democrat machine of promoting blue dogs created a weakness in Sen Conrad Burns' alleged association to Jack Abramoff.

One seat was all they needed for a majority and the GOP let Montana slip away!

Bunch of dumazzes!

There currently is a recall/impeach petition circulating in Montana to get rid of Baucus.

Tester is now going to get the same from Montana residents.
They are furious over this bill.

I recall well Abramoff/Burns (well known even out of state). Burns was cleared, but not until Tester was elected. (CB did have some moments though which didn’t help, nothing approaching a Senator Sandwich though, or other miscreant missives/deeds)

Tester campaigned as a mil/vet advocate. I maintain that he’s spitting in their face for their sacrifice. More so due to the high rate of Montana’s enlistment.

For him to use his history is pissing in the face of those that paid for their health care without “insurance” and also found the means to help out others in their need.

Forget a recall. Will never happen.

What we need is an investigation to see how many cross over primary voters {Operation Chaos in reverse} gave us Bob Kelleher as the GOP candidate for the US Senate!

The dems have the majority by one seat and I will not let the national powers forget how they wrote off the race in Montana back in 2006.

He’s a liar and I told him so.

Told my senator the same thing.

If I hear any more chortling over this by those bastids, I just might lose it.

I hope there is a special place in hell for these smarmy corrupt aholes.

I am seeing RED.

We just got Dicken’d[s] for Christmas.

If you’re talking about getting close enough to tell Tester off, you were lucky. He’s kept his ‘meetings’ closed to anything but the subject at hand.

Then he exits, leaving his staff to shuffle off the underlings questions.

By the by, it’s not over yet.

The bill now has to go back to the House. MT’s single Rep, Denny Rheberg (R) was against it before and should be against even more so now.

(He was also said to be considering running for the Senate)

To tie it all together it was Rahm Immanuel and Chuck Schumer that recruited and funded Tester's run against Burns.

Tester has no idea how angry Montanans are over his blind party loyalty.

He voted against TARP and got nothing. But when he voted for stimulus he got a seat at the appropriations table.

He has managed to vote for more pork and wasteful spending than every politician ever elected in Montana combined.

Didn’t know that, thanks. (part of a pre-conceived plan? 0bama spent a lot of time here campaigning. Ruined a Fourth of July parade for a few of us)

Any thoughts on your end about his Forest Bill?

From what I’ve heard (couldn’t get into his meeting), it’s a boon to a logger when other logging ops are closing down (Smurfit Stone), ie, no market for anything (and fire danger).

Of course, there’s also the added closure of more land to all recreational use. Just what environmentalists want... more land closed.

(even the forest seems to be opposed)

A real representative he is, just not sure for whom.

Tester is so one term it’s laughable, if Conrad Burns had not been such a terrible candidate Tester would never have won.
