You let a dude from a Muslim country and no luggage on a U.S.-bound plane with NO passport?! Hellooooo . . .?:
While Mutallab was poorly dressed, his friend was dressed in an expensive suit, Haskell said. He says the suited man asked ticket agents whether Mutallab could board without a passport. The guy said, Hes from Sudan and we do this all the time.
Mutallab is Nigerian. Haskell believes the man may have been trying to garner sympathy for Mutallabs lack of documents by portraying him as a Sudanese refugee.
The ticket agent referred Mutallab and his companion to her manager down the hall, and Haskell didnt see Mutallab again until after he allegedly tried to detonate an explosive on the plane. . . .
About an hour after landing, Haskell said he saw another man being taken into custody. But a spokeswoman from the FBI in Detroit said Mutallab was the only person taken into custody.
I doubt very much that in the time between when Haskell saw this guy trying to get on the plane without a passport and the time when he boarded, he suddenly manufactured a passport out of wholecloth. If its trueand it sure sounds like itthat this guy, Abdul Mutallab, a Muslim foreigner, was allowed to board the plane without a passport, its epic incompetence.
Oh, and who was the other guy the FBI took into custody? Im not buying the agencys story that no-one else was arrested, given what the Haskells report.

EPIC FAIL!
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find only things evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelogus
AND he was in Seat 19A right over the fuselage!!!
The timing of “letting a known terrorist” on the plane to the US is very very interesting to say the least, given Zero’s low numbers.
How did he get seat 19A ,the one most perfectly positioned
to cause the most damage to the plane if he had been able
to trigger the detonator?
That can not be a coincidence.
If this story is true it needs to go VIRAL
Hundreds of thousands of travelers are now being given the 3rd degree because perhaps an incompetent airline got pwned by al Qaeda using the race card, and allowed a “poor black yoot” with NO PASSPORT or luggage to board an international flight for the USA??? And seated him over the fuel tank?
Gawdalmighty.
whoever bought his ticket selectd his seat

The idiots in DC think we will not notice what they are doing.
The first thing I thought of was the Detroit’s unemployment is at almost 50% according to some accounts—the politics of an “attack” on that city—why, it’s like Katrina in New Orleans, doncha think? This is SCARY!! Our government “let” this happen in hopes it would boost bammy’s numbers
But they strip searched the person in the wheelchair and the 3 month old baby, that should make you feel secure.
OK. So, the Haskells have now identified themselves as the authors of that story.
This was posted on a number of threads here at FR yesterday. I knew that the MSM would NEVER follow it up or ID the person who posted that blog. I did try to alert Drudge yesterday, but evidently he didn’t follow it up, either.
The link given can be followed back to to poster’s own page, where he tells several people that he will email them a picture of his boarding pass, to prove that he was on the flight. There was nothing further, but evidently Debbie Schussel did take the trouble of confirming that they were on board.
They still could be wrong. But I strongly doubt it. The witness in question sounds like a lib, and the last thing he would do is make this up.
So, FBI, if he had a passport, how about showing it to the media?
And, by the way, while we’re at it, where’s the Birth Certificate?
So, if this story is untrue, WHERE’S THE PASSPORT? I think we need to ask the media to confirm with the FBI whether or not he had a passport.
If this story is true, they let a known Muslim terrorist onto a plane with no passport or valid ID. And did the guy who ushered him through customs in Amsterdam provide them with any ID himself? Who was he?
It sounds as if he got on last minute, with no passport, and was aided by a well dressed man who did all the talking. At the last minute you rarely get to choose the seat.Someone in the airline must have known what was going to happen and how to make it happen.
Where are the media reports on this? Oh right, at a hula fest wearing leis.
I’m confused. Did US authorities drop the ball, or the Dutch at SHIPOL?
I have flown out of Schiphol at least 20 times and have always found the security measures to strong, but I have always flown KLM, Continental or PrivatAir and never on NWA.
Looks to me like the NWA staff screwed-up big time and the solution may be to require that a US TSA official review the boarding procedures and flight manifest of every flight headed to the States.
At the risk of being redundant I would again point out that this man with no baggage, no passport, and a one-way ticket purchased with cash was allowed to board an US bound flight without being properly searched or questioned and was seated in a place on the aircraft that made him a particular danger to the flight if he detonated an explosive device.
Sounds like it was the people at NWA as they are responsible for who gets on their airplane.
I think this pushs his #s lower honestly. Reminds everyone that they were safe under bush and since obama there have been at least 2 attacks.
I hope Beck has the Haskells as guests on his show Monday night! Wouldn’t that be something?
“I think this pushs his #s lower honestly. Reminds everyone that they were safe under bush and since obama there have been at least 2 attacks.”
The responsibility for this lies squarely the airline, just as it did when Richard Reed he boarded that American Airlines jet in Paris back in 2001.

Big difference here. Richard Reed’s Father did not go to a US Embassy to warn about his Muslim Extremist Son.
Obama owns this Muslim!!!!

This story and the governments reaction to it stinks! They Want an incident! IMO
No answer to that will be forthcoming, no matter who asks, until it is ordered by Obama and Napolitano.
...which means it is damned unlikely!
Obviously there were two screw-ups here.
1. The US apparently does not combine the “Terrorist Watch List” and the “No Fly List.”
2. The NWA staff at Schiphol let this guy on the plane despite his lack of credentials.
Both of those issues must be fixed and we have to find out who at Schiphol gave final approval for him to board and who in the federal government decided not to combine the “Terrorist Watch List” and the “No Fly List.”
This adminstration is one huge EPIC FAIL.

Here’s the story breaking on the second guy that was arrested...Looks like another Nigerian...
In that country the well dressed man probably had a lot of juice (if it occurred) and the people at the counter and boarding area gave him what he wanted in exchange for either not getting killed or family killed or for $$$$$$. Nothing unusual about that in countries like Nigeria & Sudan. He was already through customs so it probably wasn’t checked in the Netherlands when he boarded that plane. My understanding it that when you change planes in a foreign country you never go through customs in that country so probably never show your passport. You’re inside a secure area.
You are probably right. In which case, we need to see that this story gets as much exposure as possible. And then we need to raise the question, why did security let this guy on board the plain without a passport? If they deny that story, then we need to ask, OK, let’s see the passport.
It’s all very well to blame the Dutch or the airline, but considering all the trouble security causes anyone who flies, it’s their responsibility to protect our country and its citizens from terrorists—especially from known terrorists.
Confiscate grandma’s toothpaste but let a known terrorist on board without a passport? And if they deny it, then where’s the passport?
“It sounds as if he got on last minute, with no passport......”
Yeah, but who’s to say when or by whom the ticket was purchased??
Isn’t it difficult to buy a ticket that’s not in your name?
Amsterdam officials said the U.S. cleared the passenger list
oral....never send an African to do an Arab’s job
He Murtha’d out
IF it is true wonder when FoxNews will report this?

This is the way that Delta/Northwest airlines functions?! And they want access to US markets?! This is criminal behavior and heads must roll.
Don’t know. My wife has bought every ticket for me in the past several years. In fact she’s bought them for the whole family. Thing is She kept her maiden name. The kids and my last name is different.
The last ticket for me was purchased with miles. It was never used by me. We called and inquired about switching the name on that ticket to send her mother out of town. Was told that would be no problem as long as we paid a fee for the change.
I’m willing to bet all this can easily be circumvented if you got a buddy that works as a travel agent.

Schipol should have a videocam footage of this. I’m sure we’ll hear more...maybe not in the U.S. press, though.

In the meantime the two guys sweating with rags around their heads are waved through.
I guess the old man who can hardly move is more of a concern.
Im confused. Did US authorities drop the ball, or the Dutch at SHIPOL?
The way I understand it is that the Dutch at Schiphol dropped the ball. We let this character on without a passport therefore not knowing his real name.
U.S. officials approve the passenger list before the plane is allowed to depart. Logic leads us to believe that if we knew his real name that he would at least be thoroughly searched prior to boarding.
This story was posted yesterday about the well dressed man and was debunked.
“There is simply no way to overstate the degree of failure this episode reveals in our security. The ONLY reason this mission failed was because the device failed. Absolutely NO part of OUR system was in any way responsible for preventing a crash or saving a single life. Period.”
And all the systems failed with Major Hasan, too.
At least two successful terror attacks under Obama’s watch.
Plenty of advance warnings, too. Totally overlooked.
GOP-it is time to start connecting the dots for American voters.
Themes for Nov. 2012:
—dems can’t be trusted with national security (too much political correctness)
—dems can’t be trusted with the economy (too much socialism)
>>>AND he was in Seat 19A right over the fuselage!!!<<<
LOL they now have seats OVER the fuselage??? That would make for a heck of a ride...... Are those seats cheaper?
Sorry, couldn’t resist... ;^)
The Haskells are relatives of my husband, and the family has been all abuzz about this. Where was the debunking of the well-dressed man? Kurt Haskell continues to say that he saw and heard this.
We need to find out what idiot in the Federal Government decided to not combine the “Terrorist Watch List” and the “No Fly List.”
My guess is that the combination of those two lists has never occurred going back all the way to 2001.
