W. Broward here. I just turn on my gas oven once in a while to keep the house above 70. I’m not used to wearing long pants this many days in a row though. It’s really cold!

My friend, I hope and pray that you get through this critical man-made global warming crisis unscathed.../sarcasm>

Gunner, is your lemon tree okay?

Three nights in the twenties and it still looks fine, no droopy blackish leaves.

Only thing is, when the lemons fall now.. they shatter. ;-)

"...I’m in Houston. I have a 20+ year old Satsuma orange tree. I tented the tree with a surplus parachute with a kerosene heater underneath...."

I also live in Houston, and have an enormous Philodendron (No, I'm not gay) in my back yard. Like you, I also tarped it, but was afraid to put a heater underneath because with my karma I'd burn down my neighborhood. Hopefully my lightbulb will suffice.

Also, we use the “tossed cat” method of determining the temperature, as we do not have an outside thermometer: We just toss the cat outside. It it comes back in half an hour, it is below freezing. Conversely, if it stays out all night without whining too loud, it’s over 50.
