AND NOW . . . amidst billowing clouds of fragrant, aromatic first- and second-hand premium cigar smoke. . . it is time for . . . that harmless, lovable little fuzz ball, the highly-trained broadcast specialist, having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have, from behind the golden EIB microphone, firmly ensconced in the prestigious Attila-the-Hun chair at the Limbaugh Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies, serving humanity simply by showing up, and he’s not retiring until every American agrees with him, do NOT doubt him, with shrieks of joy at the mere mention of his name (that’s Rush, for those in Rio Linda),the Mandarin of Talk Radio, with talent on loan from G-d, at the cutting-edge of societal evolution, with half his brain tied behind his back — just to make it fair, the all-knowing, all-caring, all-sensing, all-feeling, all-concerned Maha-Rushie! America’s anchorman, truth detector, and doctor of democracy. A Real Man, a living legend, a way of life. Commander in Chief of U.S. Operation Chaos. Chief Waga-Waga El Rushbo of the El Conservo Tribe. Chief of the Patriotism Police. Leader of the Conservative Movement. A Weapon of Mass Instruction. El Rushbo (a little Spanish lingo, there). He is the man who is running America (you know it and I know it). He knows the Democrats like every square inch of his glorious naked body. He is ready to do what he was born to do—that’s host. Get ready to what you were born to do—that’s listen (and post your comments on the Rush Limbaugh LIVE Radio Thread).

I dug this computer out of the “excess” pile in a closet. I knew it still had the old password for dialup on it (I had used it the first month I was here) but the modem is ancient and I can barely muster the 15.2K baud

If anybody knows how to get the password from the dots on a login prompt in Windows 98, I’d love to hear it.

Sounds very calm where you live.

With the exception of the Sago mine explosion in 06, it is that.

Sorry, but W98 is nowhere near that “User Friendly”.

During that era, users felt lucky if the system didn’t just crash for the pure he** of it two or three times a day.

HELP????

I used to keep a sawed-off hunk of baseball bat under my desk that I’d wave at the box for more HELP than I ever got from Microsoft.

Never actually hit a computer with the thing, but it DID help morale.

In the opening there are parts of Corona, the World’s Fair Grounds, Elmhurst (my old stomping grounds). The shot of the el is in Long Island City. The street with the bar is in Bayside or Hollis I believe.

When I was a kid and had a paper route, I’d pick up my papers in Corona. When they were late arriving, we would go down Corona Ave. to get lemon ices at a little hole in the wall place. That place expanded to the Lemon Ice King of Corona you see in the opening. The exterior shot of the house could be from several different areas as a builder erected quite a few areas with that same type of housing.

Back around 1pm EST Rush was reading quotes from a book critical of Alinky’s writing and methods. Did anyone catch the book and author’s name? Thanks.

There is another guy her that has the password on his laptop but, like me, he never wrote it down. So, same boat...little dots instead of a password.

If his ever gets deleted (I don’t know why it went dead on mine) he’ll be in the same boat.

Funny thing, about 6 months ago I was looking at the login sheet of paper and said to myself, “Self, you should write that down and put it in your wallet.” But I didn’t. Dumb me!
