Finally got above freezing here. My gutters and downspouts are solid ice, maybe now it will melt and stop raising the edges of my tin roof.

I was a blue collar workin’ stiff. Never went to any of those high-end eateries. I did go to Becco on 46 St. a few times and liked it. Mostly I liked small, family owned and run restaurants in Queens. Sadly, most of the ones I frequented were gone by the time I left.
A lot of the companies being made to “pay back TARP” didn’t get any TARP money.

I read about the gas find from Thackney....the slimes running DC moved very quickly to meddle with resource recovery in 20ft of water....my understanding is however, the test well was w/in Louisiana's state waters jurisdiction.

Currently on hold with the WH comment line to tell them to “let the cameras in”. Have been on hold for 20 minutes. Do they not know I am just as determined to get through as they are to keeping me out? lol.
At one time I would say that it depended on what section of each borough you went to. I stayed pretty much in northern Queens. The last 10-12 years I lived in Fun City, the demographics changed drastically. Went by my old neighborhood in Sept. 07 and only one shopkeeper that I knew remained. Very few of my neighbors, mostly elderly, remained.
Scary.
