MA-Sen. 2010: The Lesson Of Brown? (a RINO who supported Romneycare, Sotomayor, abortion)
The Atlantic ^ | 2010-01-15

Frum sees him as an antidote to the Tea Party madness:

Strong on defense and school choice, opposed to the Obama administration’s signature initiatives, Brown voted in favor of Mitt Romney’s health plan in Massachusetts. He describes himself as pro-choice (subject to reasonable limitations), accepts gay marriage in Massachusetts as a settled fact, and told the Boston Herald editorial board he would have voted to confirm Sonia Sotomayor.

Actually that guy Kennedy (who I don’t know much about except from FREEPERS on this site who says he is really conservative) is conservative. Why did we not support him like we did NY-23??? New York is pretty liberal. I would have sent money to a conservative in Mass definitely. We seem to be taking the easy way out.

Is Frum truly so delusional that he sees Brown as a Tea Party “antidote” rather than as an example of just how far Tea Party sentiment has moved Massachussetts electoral politics rightward toward the center?

Thanks for that post.

I can handle RINO’s when it means we take away a seat in a deep blue commie country. I can’t handle RINO’s in areas where a true conservative can and should win.

Each race is different. The independent conservative had a shot in NY. Not in MA.

And besides, Kennedy actually seems liberal on some things. He is not conservative.

Uh, he may not be as conservative as we would like. Are you trying to slow his momentum for some reason, here on FR?

Definitely NOT. I am thrilled not to have to vote in this election. I am just posting my opinion from a computer which is much easier than clothes pinning my nose on Tuesday if I lived in MASS.

No what is stunning is how desperate the O-bots here are to find any excuse to avoid having to attack the Left on anything.

Let see, in your lunatic world view it is worse to vote for a guy who will kill Obamacare because he is not ideological pure. You do realize is your hyper purist dogma does one thing right? You would make sure the Dems get the 60th vote to guarantee it's passage just because he is not pure enough for you?

Are you two really this stupid?

Are you guys just liars who are actually working for the Democrat National Committee or just this politically stupid?

Cause to say this sort of ignorant crap you have to either be a Democrat Party operatives or totally ignorant of how politics in a Constitutional Republic works.

So which is it guys, are you frauds or fools?

We’re talking about Massachussetts (sp?). No conservative will win there no matter how much those of us outside of the state would want it to.

Kennedy is NO conservative. He is barely a libertarian. He is a life long Democrat who recently changed to Independent. He is pro-choice(sic), pro-gay marriage, code pinko level on the war and defense. People in Mass who know Kennedy (not even his real name) say he isn’t who he wants people to think he is now.

He is playing to the tea party crowd, but no one is buying it. The Tea Party Express which has a diversity of groups like Ron Paul’s Campaign for Liberty to ResistNet to Free Republic endorsed Brown.

Brown himself says that he’s against gay marriage, supports a ban on partial birth abortion, supports parental notification and other anti-abortion laws as well as making adoption easier, and is against gun control. I’d rather get the info about him straight from the horse’s mouth, rather than from David Frum via Andrew Sullivan....

NY-23 is not as liberal as Massachusetts, not even close. NY-23 had elected a Republican for over 100 year until November 2009.

Massachusetts is one of the most liberal states in the Union and may be the most liberal one.

Brown is definitely right of center and if he wins next Tuesday it will be a huge victory for America to stop socialism.

Brown is far more conservative than Frum is portending.

Tell the Boston Globe how liberal Scott Brown is. LMAO.

It is absolutely stunning how FREEPERS are trading principles over a win. Just two months ago, everyone was swearing NEVER to support a RINO

Stunning is the mere possibility of a Republican winning this Massachusetts election, and the message it would send regarding 0bama and his agenda. A win by Brown would truly rattle Dem bones! :)

I will gladly take someone who disagrees with me 50% of the time or even 80% of the time as opposed to someone who will disagree with me 100%. I expect we will get better than 50% from Scott Brown however.

Not the same, not even close to the same. NY-23 is a conservative,or at least a right leaning district in a liberal state. Brown is running as a statewide candidate in a state that has a HUGE democrat registration advantage.
