Keep’em coming!

RomneyCare = ObamaCare = BrownCare.

We have a real Tea Party, the next step is revolution. Are you ready for that? Only a few are, in my opinion.

Forget it, GGpaX4...

Anyone who joins the anti-Keyes club and rags on him about losing elections and not being politically astute ain't gonna participate in a revolution. Physically tough only follows mentally/conservatively tough and the anti-Keyes group ain't either.

They will cheer a pro-abortion, pro-tax, pro-socialized medicine, pro-regional cap and trade liberal because he won with a (R) after his name. These aren't the kind of folk that will stand shoulder to shoulder with conservatism and the Constitution in the face of extreme cost and risk.

But for now a Brown is better than a leftist Dem.

If he helps get a sociallized medicine bill signed into law, are you still going to say that?

I will not sacrifice my country in order to be a ‘purist’ in the voting process

And...when Scott Brown takes Obamacare back to the drawing board, as he just promised, and helps pass a sociallized medicine bill...

What did you do?

We are going to have to watch him and hold him to his word. These are the issues he ran and won on so I would think it would be in his best interest to keep to his guns on them.

Scott Brown just promised that he was going to take Obamacare back to the drawing board because everybody deserves a health care plan.

Is this what you think that he ran and won on? Is this Brown sticking to his guns?

Unlike most of today's politicians, Keyes will not compromise on his convictions in order to win an election.

I love Dr. Keyes. If he were President, it would be a much better country.

However.

Until the revolution, winning elections (something he CLEARLY AND OBVIOUSLY can't do) is how we decide what's going to happen.

The current socialist majority can only be defeated by people who CAN win elections, or by ropes and lampposts.

I'm a peaceful sort of guy, so I'm going with the "win elections" scenario.

“There are dozens of links for this topic.”

How many of those are reliable? I don’t just accept whatever pops up as factual.

I don’t find any reliable sites that corroborate your accusations...just the usual history-rewriting suspects.

“As far as the “gun safety initiative” is concerned, that’s the verbiage used by the Brady bill lobby at the time. Splitting hairs perhaps?”

No, just trying to figure out who I’m talking to. That phrase sets off all kinds of alarms in my mind, and I would never have used it in a post as you did.

LOL!! Who are you, Captain Renault, “Round up the usual suspects!”?
I will keep an eye out for the Alan Keyes for President Rambler Station Wagon in the driveway.

No, unlike you, I am what I appear to be: a conservative who posts here.

Oh, and also very experienced and successful at spotting libtards in conservative clothing.

“Oh, and also very experienced and successful at spotting libtards in conservative clothing.”

Congrats on your ability. For all your high minded debate club posts, you resort to calling conservatives who may just happen to be pragmatists ‘libtards’. Pat yourself on the butt, having that type of skill is about as important as Alan Keyes’s influence has been.

“To satisfy my curiosity, I called my nine-year-old over, and he immediately saw the logical fallacy in your argument.”

Your post (370 to Titus)regarding your 9 year old was telling. A child logically discerning an issue like abortion? He is simply repeating the views of his parents as his brain has not caught up to that level of ‘logic’. Perhaps a better way to develop a nine year old boy’s brain would be to teach him how to field grounders in the backyard. At least that is what I did years ago. You don’t win points bringing a child into a very adult subject.

Finally, you have spent several days defending a guy who cannot even garner attention. All of your ‘Gramsci stuff’ and ‘assumption 1 applies’ means something only to you I suppose. So he is a ‘true conservative’. If he can’t draw an audience or create any influence on the landscape, who gives a crap.

"Victory!", they cried, and the crowd began to boast,
Then they turned to me, and said, "Join us in our toast!"

"I voted for him!", cried one, "I sent money!", cried another!
I looked in the cup, my heart did sink, I cried "What about my unborn brother?"

"Praise, God!" cried one, as "Alleluias" they did sing,
And so I thought, I will take this cup, and offer it to my King!

I raised it up, this "Victory cup", the stem became a reed,
The bowl a dripping sponge, I wondered at this deed!

His Throne became the Cross, He tasted and turned His head,
All at once, this "Victory cup", became a source of dread.

Oh man before you cry "Victory!", before you start to sing,
Consider if this victory, is befitting of Thy King!

“…you resort to calling conservatives who may just happen to be pragmatists…”

I don’t believe that you, or several others on this thread, are either of those things.

“Your post (370 to Titus) regarding your 9 year old was telling. A child logically discerning an issue like abortion?”

It is really tiresome to discuss issues with people to whom the simplest propositions must be explained. Let me see if there’s a simpler way to explain it.

It was not the issue of abortion that my nine year old discerned; it was, *as*I*said*, the logical fallacy in the argument that he discerned. That is, even a nine year old can see that saving all of something is preferable to only saving part of it, where the object is to save as much of that something as possible.

The rest of your drivel was based on that same error, and so need not be discussed.

“Finally, you have spent several days defending a guy who cannot even garner attention.”

As another poster said, that says more about you and the rest of the electorate than it does about Keyes.

“All of your ‘Gramsci stuff’ and ‘assumption 1 applies’ means something only to you I suppose.”

If you had been posting on here for any significant length of time, you would have come across one of the many discussions of Gramsci. And if you didn’t get the references to the assumptions I outlined, you really should consider reading twice before speaking once.

“So he is a ‘true conservative’. If he can’t draw an audience or create any influence on the landscape, who gives a crap.”

People whose commitment to right and wrong is more than a quarter-inch deep.

Seems to be far too little of that.

“If you had been posting on here for any significant length of time”

I have to chuckle. It seems that every forum I have read, somehow the oldest members of the forum feel like they are morally and intellectually superior. They come to the false assumption that a newer member is a new reader, or a new conservative. FR is one of many sites that I read for conservative thought, however, I do have a job and cannot read every thread.

You missed my point. It was more about your high minded language and self pride in your debate skills, and then resorting to calling those who happen to disagree with you ‘libtards’ (A term that I have never liked because of the use of ‘tard’—an attack on disabled people.)

I suppose I should preface my posts with my experience as a volunteer on two Reagan campaigns in my state. It was a fun time! What you believe about me is about as significant as a teat on a boar hog.

We could continue to trade barbs, but that would just not be productive. I have read your posts with interest, and actually found some of your arguments to be quite good.

You have made a very cogent point that popularity doesn’t always equate to true conservative principles, and I will concede that to be true. History has shown many principled people who were not popular in their day.

There is just something about Keyes that disturbs me; it is not specifically his message, but it is about him personally. I know ‘having a feeling’ is not a proper way to enter an argument, but I suppose I will just have to leave it at that.

My apologies if I have been too harsh to you personally.

If you actually think a real conservative could of won this election in Mass. you are as delusional as Alan Keyes.

Read the thread. I’m on the other side.

BTW, Keyes only appears delusional from barking moonbat territory.
