Skip to comments.Post-Coakley Lib Crack-up: Matthews, Dean Call Each Other Crazy

The super-sized, take-out-a-second-mortgage-to-pay-for-it bushel basket of movie popcorn just might not be big enough. War is breaking out among liberals, and the entertainment value might make Avatar look like a test signal.
Just make yourself comfortable, sit back, and watch Chris Matthews and Howard Dean go after each other on this evening's Hardball. Dean was floating the absurd argument that by choosing Scott Brown over Martha Coakley, voters were sending a secret coded message that they really wanted a health care bill . . . more liberal than the current Obamacare version.
Matthews calls Dean out on his lack of logic, and the pair wind up trading accusations of craziness.

Yes. We shouldn’t fall into the same trap that caught the liberals. Dubya’s approval numbers were low because both left and right saw him problematic but for different, opposite reasons. Similarly, 0bama’s numbers are now low because people on the left and the right hate him (or his policies) but also for different reasons. The right see him too leftist, while the left see him too conservative—or at least too easily caved in to ‘conservative demands’.
the funniest thing about this whole scenario is that back prior to the Dean Scream, Chrissy was supporting him for president!
Maybe the should both be sent to a Saudi Arabia for art therapy.
LOL. Chrissy was a Howard Dean supporter? LOL.
I honestly didn’t know that.
my one and only conversation with him was when my oldest daughter was a sophomore in the same HS class as his daughter and it was about the 2000 election and yeah, he admitted was a deaniac at that point. so to see those two accusing each other of being on the CRAZY TRAIN is just too priceless.
I am so glad that the Dems have Dean on their side...
Did you see the segment just below that one? !!!
Olbermann is saying that driving a pickup truck indicates someone is racist! It’s freaking unbelievable!
It’s evident from this that Howard Dean is crazy as a bedbug and it was actually pretty amazing to see Chris Matthews not allow him to get away with the complete nonsense Dean was advocating. Most interviewers just let Dean get away with his utter craziness, which I think is because they just want to get him off the air as quick as possible. It was completely refreshing to see an interviewer hammer Dean until he finally just shut up. Too bad it had to be Chris Matthews, though maybe it takes someone as cracked as Chris to crack Howard Dean.
I saw this today and saved it for my husband to watch. Very funny. Chris actually sounded more coherent than Dean.
That’s saying a lot because Chris is usually a blithering idiot.
I agree with Mathews. Dean is trying to float a WH talking point to see if it will work and he got blasted, deservingly.
I had so much fun watching MSNBC last night. It was as much fun as being on DU the night GW won re election.
I love a good cat fight.
“Did you see the segment just below that one? Olbermann is saying that driving a pickup truck indicates someone is racist! Its freaking unbelievable!”
See it? I wrote it. Cerealously!
"Jack," he explained, "if Brown loses next week in Massachusetts in the single digits, say by 8 or 9%, it's an enormous victory for us. If he loses by 5% or less, it's massive."
"And if he wins?"
He answered with just two words:
He looked at me intensely. "As in finita la musica, the music is over. These guys will turn on themselves with a viciousness you will not believe, Jack. Chuck Schumer will kneecap Harry Reid in a heartbeat, so we'll have a new Majority Leader. But Schumer is smart enough to realize the whole Democrat agenda is in ruins and that he can't blame it all on Reid. So the hunt will be on for the right scapegoat."
I’m saddened to see these two former radicals and former Democratic political hacks fighting with each other. They have so much in common.
I happened to catch this while channel surfing. I was hoping someone here saw it. Great catch.
That was hysterical. Dean...what a dufus! Of course, Matthews is no better, but in this instance, he showed Dean to be the total dufus that he is!
Maybe it's time for Dean to "yeaarggh!" - get Chrissy's leg tingle going again.
For once I agree with both Matthews and Dean.
Now these two boobs know firsthand how frustrating it can be to try and reason with a liberal.
Matthews: How do you know?
Dean: Because we polled.
Call in a 10,300. They both need to be locked up for their own safety and the safety of others.
What a head case Dean is. Obviously was the right man to head up the dem party.
That's not saying much. This was me at Avatar:
Huh??? Howie, go back to doing your infamous scream routine, you retarded jerk!!!
It’s fun watching to nut cases tear into each other. Too bad the nuttiest of all, Olberman, wasn’t there too.
TWO,not to sorry for typo
It’s absurd that either of these morons is on TV at all.
LOL: on reflection, I actually went back and changed it to “Casblanca,” one of my all-time favorites.
Hume forecasted a Brown win would help dems reassess their positions and become more centrist. We see signs of that beginning with Webb, Weiner and Bayh. Even clueless Boxer admitted that every State is in play. Pundits on our side are interpreting the warning signs as gloom for the dems if they continue on their self destructive path. All these 'helpful hints' spell bad news as voters have short memories and November is too far off IMHO. The gloating GOP should also heed the warning and work for every vote.
Ping to the cat fight.
