thanks, I understand your position better, but I still don’t see how we get there as a matter of policy .... the latest SCOTUS decision would have to be overturned AND there would have to be a new law banning all political contributions not directly from individuals.

OR, there would have to be a constitutional amendment.....

the latest SCOTUS decision would have to be overturned AND there would have to be a new law banning all political contributions not directly from individuals.

All that is required in the latter. The SC could not overturn that because it does not infringe on any person's rights. All it would say is that no candidate for office could accept contribution from anyone not a citizen of the United States.

Will it happen? Not a chance in hell with this corrupt band of bastards in DC. K-Street is the major industry in DC and it would be put out of business in a heartbeat if that happened, and they won't allow it.

My wife and I, and one other partner happen to be a corporation of just three people.

So do you write checks on the Corporate account to a politician? What if you and your wife want to give to one politician, and your partner disagrees? Would you just outvote him and give his money to someone he does not support?

That is why I say that only individuals should be allowed to give. I don't give a damn if it is a business incorporation, a charity, a union, or any other incorporated entity that plays with other people's money, they should not be allowed to give it to politicians. Period.

Individuals have the right to contribute to a political action committee, or not. They have the right to own or buy stock in a corporation, or not. Presently they have the right to work for a union represented business, or not. How are the forced to contribute?

Political Action Committees are an abomination and if left un checked will be the death of the Republic. They are a creation of the K-Street lobby industry and be they left, right or neither, are a completely corrupting institution --- and BTW, the professional political class loves them and will lick their Gucci loafers in a heartbeat.

A corporation is a business typically made up of many shareholders, many of whom do not even know they own that stock.. (see Mutual Funds).

As to Unions, and you fictitious "don't have to belong" statement, get real. If you are a plumber, carpenter, airline mechanic or even pilot, Radio or TV host, you have no choice about paying Union dues. You pay the dues or you don't work... period. It is legal extortion.

My point is that incorporated entities such as Corporations, Unions, Trade Groups, or the wealth of 501C3 bogus groups that have sprung up should not be allowed to give other people's money to politicians. Only individual citizens should be allowed.
