Obama in Free Fall
NRO ^ | 1/25/10 | Victor Davis Hanson

Posted on 01/25/2010 9:30:17 PM PST by advance_copy

A year ago, a number of "moderate" Republicans and Democratic stalwarts, in the gush of the inauguration, warned us of new Democratic majorities for years to come. A new race/class/gender dynamic would doom conservatives and their-old-white-guy party and its reactionary fellow-travelers. And, of course, the post-national, post-racial, post-modern president would hope and change his way to just about anything he wanted.

All of this was nonsense, but the narrative did mesmerize quite a lot of DC-NY pundits, who mistakenly fell for the Emanuel/Axelrod thesis that popular outrage at Wall Street banditry, weariness with Iraq, and the lackluster McCain campaign would translate into populist support for a kinder, gentler socialism.

And now? On every issue — more bailouts, more stimuli, more deficits, higher taxes, statist health care, cap and trade, diplomatic apologetics, the shunning of natural gas, oil, and nuclear in favor of "millions of green jobs" subsidized by billions in federal "stimulus" — the Obama position polls 5-15 points below 50 percent.

After Van Jones, Anita Dunn, the Skip Gates mess, the "tea-bagger" slurs, the attacks on Fox News, the Copenhagen dashes, the bowing, the apologizing, the reordering of creditors, the NEA obsequiousness, the lackluster overseas-contingency-operation front, the deer-in-the-headlights pause on Afghanistan, the pseudo-deadlines on Iran, Guantanamo, and health care, the transparency and bipartisanship fraud, and dozens of other things, Obama simply does not have the popularity to carry unpopular legislation forward. Indeed, he is reaching a point where he may poll more negatively than his agenda does. "Let me be perfectly clear" and "make no mistake about it" are now caricatures.

Politicians and strategists believe we are in the midst of a "populist" revolt. Nope. We are in revolt against Obama's Era of Big Government 2.0. Obama has revived the era of big government. In fact, he is implementing the era of great big huge government. Great big huge government is not the solution to our problems, great big huge government IS the problem.

“Indeed, he is reaching a point where he may poll more negatively than his agenda does. “Let me be perfectly clear” and “make no mistake about it” are now caricatures.”

And yet...and yet, he can’t stay away from the cameras. He is going to double down on all his bets, which is why he is going to flame out faster than, well, just about any other prezzie.

Kind of like political global warning scares, huh?

Most reasonable people now realize that 0bama is not doing a damned thing that’s good for America.

We are in grave danger.

And Obama is a domestic enemy of the United States of America.

It’s a wonder the Oloon sham has lasted as long as it has. During a very difficult time, when survival is shaky, you don’t hire a babbling, narcissistic, Marxist buffoon with no experience to run the business, and compound the problem by giving him sixties-like, hippiesque freaks who have slipped through the cracks of time to supervise his spending and policies. The failure was entirely predictable, and it took an idiot, pop addled culture to miss the obvious. Now we have to pay for it. We will be paying for it fifty years from now, if not forever.

Maybe, but then again it could sling-shot a conservative into office like we haven't seen in a while and, set the stage for a dimunition of liberalism that could last more than fifty years.

It could be the undoing of so much 'government' in our lives that America might be a great place to live, learn, and do business again. Free at last, free at last. Nomesayn?

WOW!!! What a great stress reliever!!! Thanks!!!

You can either watch him in free fall as he runs into, falls, bumps into, through & around the obstacles. I love watching the commie pig 0bozo's head get snapped back & forth. Or as you said, grab him with your mouse and just pound the living shiite out of him. Great stress reliever as I said. I am sending this to 8-10 of my conservative friends or co-workers.

That is funny. I bought several of these plates at Big Lots closeouts to give as gag gifts to family and friends for Christmas. They where $2 each. Needless to say they where a hit. Many asked why I didn’t include the ammunition to properly dispose of them.

Every store I've been to can't give these things away!

I've seen it with my own eyes. I love the sales pitch of “Limited Edition” and “as seen on TV”

Heck, Elvis is probably still selling more glow-in-the-nigh velvet rugs on street corners than Obama “memorabilia”.

Recall them and send them to those now in the poverty level because of this clown.
