After the Japanese debacle this creep shouldn't have got within twelve miles of the American economy. The two guys who appointed him (one to the NY Fed and then Treasury Sec) should be up for indictment as well. Guess who?
What I want to know is how and why a guy with a record that bad got promoted to where he could do real and lasting damage. I understand Goldman's motives, but I just don't get what drives the idiot pols who gave them license to inflate the risk associated with the real estate bubble. Everybody knew who was "guaranteeing" those assets. Who were they really trying to screw?

I don’t know- but I do know this- the corruption with this mess reminds me of the kind we saw at Enron; they are so deeply and profoundly corrupt their ability to recognize it has disappeared.
