Beck Slaughters Huffington’s False Claim: Clearing up the Argument between Beck and Huffington
David Horowitz's NewsRealblog ^ | Jeff Hedgpeth

Posted on 02/03/2010 4:18:13 AM PST by Michael van der Galien

In a previous post I discussed the confrontation between Fox News President Roger Ailes and Huffington Post co-founder Arianna Huffington on last Sunday’s This Week on ABC. Let me repeat the relevant portion of the transcript from the video embedded in that post.

HUFFINGTON: Well, Roger, it’s not a question of picking a fight. And aren’t you concerned about the language that Glenn Beck is using, which is, after all, inciting the American people? There is a lot of suffering out there, as you know, and when he talks about people being slaughtered, about who is going to be the next in the killing spree…

AILES: Well, he was talking about Hitler and Stalin slaughtering people. So I think he was probably accurate. Also, I’m a little….

HUFFINGTON: No, no, he was talking about this administration [Emphasis added].

AILES: I don’t — I think he speaks English. I don’t know, but I mean, I don’t misinterpret any of his words.

When I wrote the last post it was unclear to what Ms. Huffington was referring. Since then, she has clarified what she was talking about when she said Beck was accusing the Obama administration of leading people to slaughter. Ms. Huffington offered this explanation on the Huffington Post, “Glenn Beck Goes After Me, But Forgets His Show Is on Video and Lies About Things He “Never, Never” Said”. Please note that the video to which she is referring is embedded in Ms. Huffington’s post.

Clearly, Glenn Beck was talking about the economy being slaughtered by the Obama Administration policies in the video Ms. Huffington cites, and she was trying to conflate a dated clip with Mr. Beck’s recent documentary about actual slaughter by ruthless socialist and communist dictators while it was still fresh in people’s minds.

Agree wholeheartedly. What makes Zsa Zsa Huffington a pundit, other than her ex-husband’s money? She has all the intellectual weight and credibility of any of the Gabor sisters.

I cannot see how Arrianna Huffington, a foreigner who married a queer and became rich because of it ,plays such a part in liberal politics.

She's the closest the Left comes to a normal American.

Well, first stop calling me Shirley!

I can't say what you have or have not heard but Beck does push his 3rd party preference quite often on both his radio & TV show esp when he goes down the "both parties are the same". If that were true, we would have ALL of MAO-bama's socialism policies passed.

Of course we have RINOs in the GOP but better & more effective to replace them with Reagan/TeaParty conservatives.

In fact, other radio hosts have commented on this including Rush & Hannity. During his TV interview of Sarah Palin, he tried to get her to accept the 3rd party mantra - thankfully, she didn't bite.

Arianna is a strange bird, anyway.

Last I heard, she was dating Cory Booker, the mayor of Newark, NJ who is like half her age or something. Nevermind the fact he was also dating another chick.

Weird.... Arianna knew/knows about the other chick.

Glen Beck is the best thing to happen to politics in my lifetime. This Fraud “Lady Huffinpuff” hardly speaks english and I think she should see a speech therapist prior to seeking citizenshhip .
Or maybe move back to what ever country she crawled out of.
Go Glenn Beck !!!

I remember seeing her in the 90’s during the impeachment on CNBC (couldn’t get Fox back then) and I thought she leaned right because she spoke against Clinton and for the proceedings to go forward.

She’s not even a citizen? You know, it’s rare when a foreigner really understands what is really going on over here, and she proves the point.

“Surely you must have some quotes, because I watch his show daily and I’m not hearing this “3rd party nonsense”.

Just yesterday on his RADIO program, he was touting the Libertarian party again - celebrating that when the rare lefty sees the light and comes around, they don’t go Republican, the go LIBERTARIAN.
And he also constantly says that both Democrat and Republican parties are the same thing.

I love Glenn to death, but this is the one thing I wish he’d stop with. 3rd party contenders only hand victory over to Democrats. Rush is right on this point. What we need is to RETAKE the Republican party, not go Libertarian or some other 3rd party.

BTW- The subject of this thread - Priceless... How can the left even PRETEND to argue when folks like Glenn and Rush will take the time to slowly and calmly go back over the issue at point via audio and/or video and point out the clear truth of the matter? It’s HILARIOUS!!

More hearsay.

People have right to vote their conscience no matter what party they choose. Refusing to acknowledge the problems within the GOP is nothing but cowardice.

Hearsay? I’ve heard it MANY times from Glenn’s own mouth. And apparently, so have others on this thread.

Granted, folks have EVERY right to vote their conscience. Nobody is denying that.

But nobody here is “refusing to acknowledge” the problems with the GOP either.

What did my post say? - “..we need to RETAKE the Republican party...”

Why start an arguement here? To what purpose?
