There aren't any major differences in beliefs between "Tea Party" activists and the Republican Party, the top House Republican said Thursday.
House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) said the GOP and the groups conservative activists across the country are indistinguishable when it comes to policy.
"There really is no difference between what Republicans believe in and what the tea party activists believe in," Boehner said during an appearance on the conservative Mike Gallagher's radio show.

WELL SAID Pissant... well said...
Leaders of the establishment Republican Party are trying to co-opt the Tea Party movement... just try to sound like the real people... don’t be like them - just sound like them..
There is hope that the aloof, elitist Republican Establishment will at least by osmosis - finally get it... but it is only a ‘maybe’...
There you go -—offending pop-tarts!
OTOH, who are part of the super bowl halftime show...
I would not trust JB to watch my dog. The guy gives me the creeps.
If one looks at the record from 1988-2008, none of the Republican Presidential candidates were/are conservative. NONE.
Enough with the third party crap.
Enough of the idiots telling independents they must join the GOP. Make them earn it.
“There aren’t any major differences in beliefs between “Tea Party” activists and the Republican Party, the top House Republican said Thursday.”
The Republican Party exploits the word republican, but, unlike the Tea Party(s), fails to exposit, practice or enforce the principles of our constitutional republic.
The GOP is still the best vehicle for the advancement of conservatism, and will continue to be for many a year to come.
Worry about taking it back, not leaving it in the water ala Kennedy.
Man, that was a good rant. I’m sending it to Boner. Please do the same ;-)
I just sent it to Boner.
That’s my congressman you’re insulting there buddy....at least wait for me to insult him.
He’s conservative, but he’s a crappy leader. (good tan though) I want Pence to get the top spot when we take the House.
I’m hear at the Tea Party convention and spoke with a guy running for congress from Illinois and he promised that if he gets elected he’s going to vote for Pence as leader.
Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!
You Win the Cookie!
Exactly right these guys are politicians. Their actions more often than not will not reflect their beliefs.
They make deals and spend money that is what they go to Congress to do.
Politics is the art of compromise. Unfortunately the longer they are in Washington the easier compromise becomes and the farther away from their ideals they move.
What I would prefer in stead of term limits that so many want is that Congress be in session only three to six months out of the year and that Congress be required to return to their districts the remainder of the year.
In addition the make up of the House of Representatives should return to the original Constitutional representation of one Representative to one for every thirty thousand. (Article 1 Section 2)
If government was administered in this way congress people would remain in touch with their constituency and they would not produce as much legislation.
Whats the problem with Boehner? No earmarks EVER. Staunch Conservative on any issue you care to name. No hint of a scandal.
The fact is the Minority in the House is almost completely powerless, by design.
What I see on this thread is a good example of how the DEMOCRATS gained full and complete power in Washington DC.
Watch out. The thought police will be around to explain to you that you can’t win elections if you take such tough stands on issues.
You need to be wishy-washy, compromising, stand for as little as possible, put up the big umbrella, and then watch your “representatives” sell the country down the river. That’s how to win elections.
