Working with developmentally disabled individuals, whom receive SSD, and also work a part-time job as part of a socialization of the individual. They also have the right to vote, which as counselors they are encouraged to do so. many voted in 2008 for McCain and Palin. There were some problems when the person whom assisted them in the poll, repeatedly strived to change the levers from McCain Palin to that of Obama Biden. The person in question was discharged and had their name placed with state registry as abusive. A person with a developmentally disablity has the right to vote. there are some people with developmental disabilities whom are to severe that live in an institution but many live in group homes that are run for example Bethseda Homes. Others live in apartments with another person with someone coming into the home assisting them in activities of daily living. social interaction is essential. Yes they also follow along in politics. Yes many do like palin because of her voice due her son Trig.
“Freedom of speech. Its important, even if we dont like what people are saying.”
Agreed, except for this “make them play by their own rules” or words to that effect from the one who informs all their actions, Alinsky.
When all is said and done, I still say we should be niggardly in the use of the ‘r’ word.
Remember years ago, when Al Gore called Republicans, “The extra chromosone crowd?”
Imagine if a Republican campaigning for office had said that.
I've thought a lot worse of people on his side of the issues. It's nice to see him vocalize what he thinks of some liberals.
Very well said. Some Sunday pundit will probably steal this from you! :-)
He deserves every moment of ridicule and embarrassment.
(Alinsky - “Make them live up to their own rules...”)
PC is actually an invention of the left. It was designed to take power away from the Christian moral rules that had guided America from it’s beginning. The plan was to replace traditional taboos with their own definitions and make weapons of their outrage that precluded a viable defense.(e.g. “Have you stopped beating your wife”?) To their surprise the whole thing has taken on a life of it’s own. It has become a right to be offended. However, the outrage that they could once whip up is blunted by their own rules.
It is understandable that those who have children with mental disabilities would be ticked off.
That is PC ‘thought’, a much more insidious, deadly thing
