Over my dead body!
A defiant Gov. Paterson vowed today that he'd leave office early early only if he's hauled off "in a box."
"Let me let you know this: The only way I'm not going to be governor next year is at the ballot box, and the only way I'll be leaving office before is in a box," Paterson said during a news conference.
"Actually, the more frustrated I get, the more I know I am going to be running" in November, he added.

Unfortunately, the Democrats in Albany have lots of practice in stuffing things into ballot boxes.

I hope he doesn’t regret it either. As misguided as he may be, he’s at least trying to cut spending - something the elected idiots don’t seem to understand.
Whoever is behind this sudden story is trying to stop the primary from happening. There needs to BE a primary - Gigglebritches needs to know she ain’t secure in that seat!

Looks like the NYTs tried to bluff Paterson into resigning.

Liberal bloggers have been saying that the NY Times story is an expose about the Governor and his wife being swingers and having swinger sex parties in the Governor’s mansion.

He even sent a proposal for term limits to the legislature after bashing them for corruption and protection of sacred cows.
He doesn’t seem to be one of those psycho liberals. While I don’t agree with him on much, I have to hand it to him for guts, not being an Obama puppet and standing up for what he believes in. He’s certainly earned my respect.

I agree with you.
He is NOT a good governor, but he is trying.
I have my own ideas of who is trying to smear his name and is passing around false stories.
I honestly feel sorry for the guy.

Thats not what I heard...but, I could have missed some of the stories.
A few weeks ago, they tried to turn an innocent dinner, in a very public place, into something sexual. The owner of the place and other patrons, stated that absolutely nothing was going on at his table.
This week, they have him in a closet with some woman. And apparently, sunday, they stated he was going to resign.
Somebody doesnt want this man to run..hmmmmm I wonder who that could be?
To: jimbo123
Interesting choice of words to the Chicago syndicate. . .and spoken, of course, like a true - and so, corrupted - Democrat.
Think he will be gone; sooner than he imagines; whether he is in a box; or not.

Terribly unfortunate phrasing for a guy that was just caught nailing a mistress. Maybe the “box” he’s talking about isn’t made of wood ...

For what it's worth, Don Imus has been backing Gov. Peterson on his morning drive time radio show on 770WABC and Fox Business Channel. A steady drumbeat of standing by Paterson and denigrating Andrew Cuomo. He had Dicker on his program today.
Imus has been something of a kingmaker. His backing pulled Bill Clinton's fat out of the fire after he lost the NH primary and secured a win for him in NY that relaunched his campaign for the presidential nomination. Recently, he backed Christie and trashed Corzine in the recent NJ governor's race.
The Times still hasn't printed it's much heralded big scoop. I think it's all a bluff and they haven't got the poker face to pull it off.
More popcorn, please.

I figured maybe Paterson frolicked in the back of that limo with Obama and Larry Sinclair.

I rather keep Paterson in versus having that son of a Cuomo be governor !
To: RebelTXRose
I've heard him on John Gambling's morning radio show a few times and he can keep up a coherent conversation (unlike many politicians who just foam and rant on the radio).
And frankly, what he did with Richard Ratvitch to break the deadlock in Albany last summer just plain took balls.
There were some saying that he should've been impeached for pulling such a clearly illegal, unconstitutional blunder like that ... although they might've shut up now that the courts backed him up.
