New Aerial Photos of 9/11 Attack Released Dramatic shots were taken by photographers in NYPD helicopters

[See URL for Pics: An Unforgettable View]

Feb. 10, 2010 NEW YORK - Newly released aerial photos of the Sept. 11, 2001, World Trade Center attack show the towers coming down from a dramatic new angle.

The photos were obtained by ABC News, which filed a Freedom of Information Act request with the National Institute of Standards and Technology last year.

The NIST collected the images as part of its investigation into the terrorist attack. ABC said it was provided 2,779 pictures on nine CDs. Many of the photos, taken from police helicopters, have never been released before.

Twelve of the photos appear on ABC's Web site.

One photo shows a close-up the upper floors of the burning towers. Others show the towers' dramatic collapse in a thick plume of smoke and debris and sweeping views of billowing smoke clouds.

I read this all the time: “New photos released...” Where are they released? Does anybody know how this releasing process goes?

I’m surprised MSNBC didn’t edit all the photo cutlines to end with the words “because of Bush.”

I don’t know, these photos may help to put the nails in the coffin of having this trial in NYC, or a civilin trial at all.

These photos should be distributed nation-wide with the massage: ‘Because of Islam’.

I think these were taken by the Dept. of Homeland Security and ABC used the Freedom of Information Act to get them released.

A American hostage has been taken in Pakistan. They are demanding we release the female terrorists convicted in NYC.

If ever there was an ignorant, deadly dangerous idea, it was to bring terrorists to New York and showcase them to the entire world.

Oh yes, the jihadists will surely love us after that.

A SINGLE photo of one of the victims after their 1000 foot death jump to the concrete would be more effective.

But, I guess those don’t exist....not a one....

The bodies of the people who had to choose between burning alive and jumping, splattered on the pavement are never shown. Perhaps that is a good thing for the families and friends of WTC victims, but we need to be kept angry about it, and that helps.

The day isn't over with yet.......(or perhaps it's being saved for an upcoming speech.....).

Apparently it hasn’t helped enough.

I suppose some would say it is crass in positing that IF the American public had seen the human harvest of Osama bin Laden’s Jihadist handiwork, we just might not have a Muslim with the surname of Obama, as Commander in Chief of our Armed Forces.

The people working at MSNBC are likely very much against having the trial in New York City. The 9/11 attack likely effected many at MSNBC very personally.

Yes, the photos are exceptional. They tug at my heart.

Even though I live 2,000 miles from NYC the attack personally hurt me and my husband.

1) The phone in our clinic stopped ringing for a week, except to cancel appointments. For almost a month we saw very few patients.

2) Since our clinic was in center city, many of our patients worked for the hotels, airlines, and car rental companies. Many, many, many of our patients were laid off from their jobs.

3) When patients did start coming back they reported that they lost good friends and co=workers in the 9/11 attacks. Some stated that their business instantly disappeared and they were out of work. It was emotionally very draining to listen to these sad stories.

4) In all it was a solid 9 months to a year before our clinic was back to its pre-9/11 income stream.

Still seems just a short time ago. Hard to believe it’s almost been 9 years.

Life is going by fast!
