It has been tough to keep up with all the bad news for global warming alarmists. We're on the edge of our chair, waiting for the next shoe to drop. This has been an Imelda Marcos kind of season for shoe-dropping about global warming.

At your next dinner party, here are some of the latest talking points to bring up when someone reminds you that Al Gore and the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change won Nobel prizes for their work on global warming.

ClimateGate – This scandal began the latest round of revelations when thousands of leaked documents from Britain's East Anglia Climate Research Unit showed systematic suppression and discrediting of climate skeptics' views and discarding of temperature data, suggesting a bias for making the case for warming. Why do such a thing if, as global warming defenders contend, the "science is settled?"

FOIGate – The British government has since determined someone at East Anglia committed a crime by refusing to release global warming documents sought in 95 Freedom of Information Act requests. The CRU is one of three international agencies compiling global temperature data. If their stuff's so solid, why the secrecy?

ChinaGate – An investigation by the U.K.'s left-leaning Guardian newspaper found evidence that Chinese weather station measurements not only were seriously flawed, but couldn't be located. "Where exactly are 42 weather monitoring stations in remote parts of rural China?" the paper asked. The paper's investigation also couldn't find corroboration of what Chinese scientists turned over to American scientists, leaving unanswered, "how much of the warming seen in recent decades is due to the local effects of spreading cities, rather than global warming?" The Guardian contends that researchers covered up the missing data for years.

It’s one thing to gripe and complain about these things and disagree with it, but it’s quite another to convince your friends and neighbors and relatives and coworkers...

THEREFORE..., it’s also absolutely necessary for people to know the information in the following documentary. If there were simply one video that you could see and/or show people you know... this would be the one...

Outstanding collection of data points! Thanks for posting. It's wonderful fun to watch the whole thing unravel at such breakneck speed. The entire Democrat party and their RINO accomplices should be prosecuted and convicted under RICO of attempting to defraud the US out of trillions of dollars. They should get much longer sentences than Madoff for this criminal behavior.

On HimalayaGate, Landsbaum should have provided a little more detail like Mark Steyn did a week or so ago:

The IPCC made the "Himalayan glaciers melted by 2030" claim in a footnote in their 2007 report.

Their source? A 2005 World Wildlife Fund (an advocacy organization) report which mentioned the claim.

And their source? A 1999 article in pop-science magazine.

And that guy's source? A scientist who now admits he was merely "idly speculating" and had done absolutely no research whatsoever on the topic whatsoever.

So this went from a 1999 "helper quote" -- look, the guy just said this to give the writer something juicy for a nothing little article -- to accepted IPCC fact in less than ten years,
with absolutely no science whatsoever supporting it.

And the IPCC now admits there was never any science behind it, but it was just the sort of thing they thought they should put in:

Dr. Murari Lal, the “scientist” who included the 2035 glacier apocalypse in the IPCC report, told Britain’s Mail on Sunday that he knew it wasn’t based on “peer-reviewed science” but “we thought we should put it in”—for political reasons.

Possible scenario--Evil men at Goldman Sachs, along with George Soros and assorted other evil billionaires intent on domination invest in a few crackpot professors. The professors probably come pretty cheap to a billionaire. For a few hundred thousand a head, selected over several countries, paid to scare the public so that the Evil Billionaires can cash in huge on selling "carbon credits"--

Then buy up some science magazine editors, promise them fame or just plain bribe them to call the remaining unbought scientists dirty names. Holocaust deniers, or something like that.

For a lousy few million dollars, you could end up with trillions.

Well there's a good point. For some time now, I have been dropping notes on the Nobel website along these lines....

I have both a general and a specific question. 1. Has a recipient ever been asked to give back a Nobel prize? 2. I think we need to follow a divergent trail, now that the climatologist perps have been found out and confessed. Now I want to know who were their co-conspirators in bringing forth this attempt to coopt entire nations into a morally bankrupt UN to "save the world". I want to know if Al Gore was one of their 'front-men'. Where is he? Should he have to relinquish his mantle of awards from the Nobel joke to the Oscar (or whateverthehell it was)? Did he attempt to fulminate international insurrection by "playing on our fears", all the while knowing he was pumping fictitous sunshine up our bungs. You cannot scream "fire" in a crowded building, yet in effect, Gore made nie-on a quarter of a billion dollars personally by screaming "global warming" on a crowded planet, asserting if the United States did not "poney up" the cash and ceede sovereignty to a gangster organization like the United Nations,and do it NOW, the globe would be reduced to cockroaches and democrats (sorry to be repeatitive).

He called for allegiance to an international body over America. They have a word for that, don't they? But it seems Gore is on the lam, not being seen since the disposition of the East Anglia e-mails were disclosed.

So, I ask, What did Gore know, and when did he know it?

Technically we are still in an ice age now. We are simply in a interglacial period within this current ice age. When this ice age ends, it will get much, much warmer.

Another glacial period is much more likely though...

I just ask them if they have ever been to Yosemite. Most have and then I ask them how the valley was formed. Most know but if they don’t I inform then. Then I ask, so what happened to the glacier? This usually stops them right there. Unbelievably, many if not most people believe the climate has been stable thoughout the history of the earth and is only changing now because of AGW.
