As authorities searched for clues into what could have sent a University of Alabama neurobiology professor on an alleged killing spree, friends and family yesterday described Braintree native Amy Bishop as an awkward introvert on the brink of losing her teaching job.
* * *
A family source said Bishop, a mother of four children - the youngest a third-grade boy - was a far-left political extremist who was obsessed with President Obama to the point of being off-putting.

a far-left political extremist who was obsessed with President Obama to the point of being off-putting. If the tenure thing hadn't worked out, she could have applied for a job at MSNBC.

Of course not a word of this will be in the ABCNNBCBS coverage of this. They’ll blame the “un-registered” gun for everything................

Okay, let’s start a pool for when Napolitano adds “off-putting, far-left political extremists obsessed with Obama” to the list of domestic terrorists.
...Anybody? ...Anybody?

She was an oddball - just not very sociable, said Sylvia Fluckiger, a former lab technician who worked with Bishop in 1993.
If a woman named Sylvia Fluckiger didn't go postal, then I don't think anyone has an excuse.

You’re right. They probably also will ignore the fact that if her Democrat-official mommy hadn’t pulled strings to get her off the hook for the multi-shot “accidental” shooting of her brother, she would have been a convicted felon and, as such, not permitted to possess a gun.

Why is “awkward introvert” always mentioned before the crazy-political-etc-affiliation?

I know this sounds bad but she has the kind of face I'd like to punch. It IS the face of a left-wing radical feminist, isn't it?

It was evident she was a troubled person from the initial report when the meeting she exploded at was about tenure. This is a touchy issue which I believe should be done away with. She was passed over last year and again this year. It is difficult to imagine in our PC world, the U would pass over a female unless thee were major academic or social problems.

Why is awkward introvert always mentioned before the crazy-political-etc-affiliation?I'm tired of the typecasting, too. Extroverts can't understand introverts (who are in the minority), and what they can't convert they scorn. It's tedious.
