Md. Dem Mikulski Set to Follow Bayh Out Senate Door
Newser ^ | 2-15-10 | Will McCahill

Posted on 02/16/2010 7:25:05 AM PST by kingattax

(Newser) – Claiming “an impeccable source,” blogger Rich Vail reports tonight that Democrat Barbara Mikulski will follow Evan Bayh’s lead and not seek re-election to her Maryland Senate seat this fall.

Vail, a Tea Party supporter behind blog The Vail Spot, says the 73-year-old Mikulski has been slow to recover from an ankle injury suffered last year, and has told her doctor she plans to retire.

There are a few possible candidates that would have a decent chance. Our ex-governor (Ehrlich) is either going to run for the Senate seat or challenge the current governor (Omalley) for the governor seat. Ehrlich would have a decent chance at either race, leaving the other race without a Republican candidate. His wife has a decent reputation and could possibly make a run. Michael Steele would be competitive. But once you get beyond them there isn’t anyone with big name recognition. But nor is there a democrat with a great reputation. I’d bet Stenny Hoyer makes a go for it.

Hmmm, interesting. Could this by why Bob has been coy about whether he's running for governor?

Pat McDonough seemed to be talking about running for governor.

Run Bob run. Bob should go for the Senate seat if this is true. Even if he defeats MOM he would be an instant lame duck governor based on our state house. IMO he has a better chance at winning the Senate seat against Stenny vs MOM.

I wonder how big her campaign chest is right now? I think she gets to keep it if she retires.

If Senator Milulski drops out of the Senate, she will join a growing list of Democrats who are shocked and dismayed by the whipping the Democrat Party will take this November, created and honed to perfection by Anti-American, Socialist/Communist/Facist, POTUS Barack Hussein Obama. They want no part of it, and are truly ashamed of the once great Democrat Party. If the Dems had any brains and common sense they would broom Obama and all his minions right now, either by forcing his resignation or impeaching him!!!

“Hmmm, interesting. Could this by why Bob has been coy about whether he’s running for governor? “

I wish.
This Mikulski story is still not on the local news here.

What has the former governor been doing since he lost his re-election? Can he win again in a State wide race? If he has a chance I’ll support him.

I'm praying these latest ‘bail outs’ of rats who are not in that much danger of being voted out may not be due to some truly nasty stuff on the horizon from the WH.

obummer has sabra rattled that he will now invoke executive orders to ram some of his cap & trade, “health” bill (aka Takeover Stealth Bill) etc,. down our throats - increasingly neutering Congress and the Senate.

He and his Chicago Thugs (controlled by their puppeteers behind the curtain) are hell bent to take over this country no matter the means. They hit the ground running to ram everything through before We the People caught on.

However, they hit a speed bump: We the People.

Rather than listen, they rev their engines and, calling We the People mobs, terrorists and enemies of The People, continue headlong to push their Socialist agenda, the devil take the hindmost...even in the face of the all but certain House Clearing at the poles in Nov. They are willing to throw the rats under the bus to achieve their coup.

They are closer to takeover than at any time in the past 40 years - or more. Last Nov., they saw the bright glow of victory on the horizon. but they knew they'd have to rush things through...and counted on the sleeping and silent majority not to catch on in time to stop them.

It hasn't quite worked according to plan. the Silent Majority is Roaring and FOX News spills the beans - end running the SMSM (Socialist MSM.)

Seeing their window of opportunity closing fast with Nov. roaring over the horizon, are they planning the unthinkable? Is the reason obummer and gang continue to forge ahead with their Socialist agenda as if no one has objected because, regardless of what portends for Nov., they aren't worried because they can - and may? - declare an emergency, even if an “economic” emergency and enact martial law?

Unthinkable?

There are executive orders passed in the 1970’s that allows for the president to declare martial law - a state of emergency “,,,that is not defined.”

excerpt:

“Executive Order 11921: (Ford – June 11, 1976) “Assigning Emergency Preparedness Function Changes to Federal Departments and Agencies” Provides that the President can declare a state of emergency that is not defined, and Congress cannot review the action for six months."

Declared in the months leading up to Nov. would mean no elections.

Think this gang in the WH wouldn't do it? Think a gang of street thugs led by a Narcissist wouldn't do it? Think it couldn't happen in the U.S.A.? Do an overview of the rise and fall of countries over the past few millenia. Take a look at the personalities of the despots who brought down great civilizations.

Have some of the rats been given evidence that this WH gang will invoke executive order #11921 before Nov. in order to complete the takeover their masters have worked so many decades for?

While we smile with glee at the evidence of a thumping of rats in Nov. and now at the surprising ship jumping of rats not even in danger - we might want to look behind the curtain. (These new defections may be because there are some things even some of the rats don't want to a part of.)
