Beck’s UK broadcast runs without ads; over 100 companies have ditched Beck
Jack & Jill Politics ^ | February 16, 2010 | James Rucker

Yesterday, for the fifth day in a row, the UK broadcast of Glenn Beck’s TV show was forced to run without any advertisements. This is thanks to efforts by StopBeck.com to pressure companies advertising on Beck’s UK broadcast.

While Beck’s UK broadcast has been forced to run without ads, his US broadcast has been reduced to running promos for other shows on Fox, ads from direct marketers (think exercise equipment and gold coins) and a handful of private companies headed by right-wingers.

The left is attacking Beck by attacking and bullying his advertisers. We need to fight back and send letters of support to all his current advertisers and ones who have been forced to remove ads. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. The left only stands for freedom of speech when it is their speech and their viewpoints.

I am guessing that the fact that they pulled ads means most were left leaning to begin with...

We dropped GEICO because of this.

They didn't care. They made excuses. They fudged the truth.

We ALL need to speak up here. This is inexcusable.

Everytime someone tells me that Beck is a fringe nutcase, I just point to all the Beck-haters on the Left. They truly fear him and the format of his show that explains things in detail. To be successful, the Left needs a world full of idiots that only need a soundbite to make a decision.

I decided to try listening to Glenn Beck this last week. I had to turn him off both days I tried; finally I decided to give up on him. Too apocalyptic. I don't know how to take his constant exhortations of doom. OK. I get it. The future is going to be horrible. There's going to be a financial meltdown of unprecidented scope and scale. Everything's going to grind to a halt. I can't imagine, my wife can't imagine, my children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren can never possibly imagine the vast, titanic enormity of the pan-societal crack-up that is waiting to engulf us in the very near future. This is pretty much what the two Glenn Beck programs I happened to tune in to this last week were all about. Only Glenn Beck knows, only Glenn Beck appreciates the doom that awaits us.

All right, already. After a certain point it becomes repetitive and boring. Even the doomed can get bored.

Fox, in the US anyway, has already said they don’t really care. The sponsors didn’t completely withdraw from advertising on Fox, just asked their ads be run during other programming, so Fox didn’t lose any $$$ and I don’t think they’ll can Beck who’s up 125% in ratings in the demo of 25-54.

I wouldn’t take this too seriously. Consider the source for this report. With beck’s ratings, he will not have a shortage of sponsors.

Beck would be off the air if any of this was true - he’s not NPR or the BBC, he has no guaranteed source of income. I suspect these fascists are exaggerating their success.

The companies selling gold keep advertising. They love the doom and gloom.

Are sponsors going to drop out from FAMILY GUY because of the tasteless content there?

Libs support free speech for themselves.

Conservatives need to equal the playing field by targeting a few liberal shows for boycott. Eventually all the companies will realize they can’t pull out of every show and ignore all the complainers.

I couldn’t find a source for this that wasn’t on the left. They are proud of this, and we need to be aware. Sorry to everyone for linking to a leftist site.
