Unrealistic. Ron Paul is too old. i expect him to retire soon. If you look at any video of his 1988 campaign when he was the Libertarian Party Presidential Candidate, you can see that he’s slowed down a lot. He should retire, spend what time he has left with the wife and family.

If the movement can’t survive without him, maybe it ought not to.

BTW, i am a Ron Paul supporter.

Not the Tea Partiers. Ron Paul and the Paulistinians are not the Tea Parties. They are leeches, trying to latch onto the popularity of the Tea Parties to try to gin up support for their otherwise failed agenda.

The leftist media talked up that Mitt was expected to win, now that he didn’t, they will poo poo the straw poll and focus on the fact that Palin couldnt get out of the single digits......watch for it.

Just shows you that the CPAC has become the home of not just gay lovers, but a bunch of fringe lunatics too.

You also have to wonder how many people George Soros sent this year since he seems to make sure to get his people in every other year.

I wouldn't necessarily agree with your assertion. Ron Paul has one of the largest, unheard of college-student followings in the nation. That's huge because they are the future voters of our nation and have long been a locked-in constituency for anybody with socialist ties. This takes a large block of voters away from Obama in 2012.

Also, he received more money from military members than any other candidate in the 2008 primaries making him supported by another huge block of voters that can make a difference.

Finally, who is more to-the-right than Ron Paul? Nobody. And, then he's resonating with the young voters? That's unheard of up until now. No other candidate can claim these things - not even Sarah Palin.

Paul won all the polls last year, but what happened on Election Day? Squat.

Hey now. Let's be fair...wRONg Paul got .0001% of the vote.

Ron Paul aside. This is the story of CPAC:

Mitt Romney 22%

Sarah Palin 7%

That's pretty damned pathetic.

The Ron Paul supporters are the stormers and takeover artists par excellence. They took over every meetup and get-together during the primary season ins 2008. So it means nothing.

Half the CPAC voters are students. What percent of actual voters, do you think, are students? My guess, less than 10%.

I could tolerate him. Not my first choice as he is weak on national defense, but otherwise I have a good deal in common with him.

The problem with this argument is that it doesn't ask itself why Ron Paul has such a large following among typically leftist college students. It's because he's an anti-military, anti-war kook who is basically Code Pink in a sport coat. These kids are not going Ron Paul because of any commitment to constitutional principles or smaller government. They are going Ron Paul because they think he's a good vehicle to use to try to create TWO anti-military, anti-American parties. They have the Dems, now use Ron Paul to Code Pink the GOP as well.

Thinking that Ron Paul is going to be able to convert these kids into small government Reaganites is laughable on its face. That can only happen after they get out of college, have a couple of small businesses fail because of the regulations and taxes, and see 40% of their incomes disappear down the maw of the welfare state. THAT'S what will convert them into conservatives.

Ron Paul is too old for President, but I hope that he does not retire from the Congress. I like having him around in the House of Representatives.

Basically, I think that a lot of thse Ron Paul votes can be seen as a proxy vote for Rand Paul, should he win the Kentucky US Senate election (which, it's looking like he will).

Of course, at that point, the question becomes: If CPAC supporters had to choose between Sarah Palin versus Rand Paul, THEN which way do the votes break? They've BOTH endorsed EACHOTHER, lol!!!

Not really a big deal in the CC household; Mr. C_C loves Ron&Rand Paul and likes Sarah Palin a lot; Mrs. C_C loves Sarah Palin and likes Ron&Rand Paul a lot. So, we're both happy to see the GOP (hopefully) moving in our general direction.

Saw the results, less than 25% of those attending participated in the straw poll.

What's that mean? A concentrated group of Paul-tards managed to rig the staw vote for a fringe candidate that doesn't have an ice cubes chance in hell of EVER becoming President.

WTG! Y'all must be so proud of that accomplishment.

Why didn’t Sarah Palin speak at CPAC? You pay a penalty for not showing up.

The elite pundits will now say that her support is collapsing everywhere, not just among moderates.
