ACORN, the advocacy organization, is apparantly rebranding.
Reports say it is changing it's name across the country, and reorganizing under new local community groups to get away from the notierity the name ACORN has, to some, engendered.
Fox News paid a visit to the ACORN office in Brooklyn, New York and found a banner with the name "New York Communities for Change" added to the front entrance. The employees inside the office said it is a whole new organization.
Others say the name swap is just a bait and switch.
"This desolving of the national structure by ACORN is just a PR head fake. It's a sham," Matthew Vadum of the Capital Research Center in Washington, D.C. told Fox News. He says the new organizations will just continue ACORN's work with the same agenda, in the same offices, just under different names.

I saw this last night. I thought ACORN was under 100’s of different names. Changing there name won’t do much of anything.
As long as their Messiah is in office, they will never be gone.
My hope is when we take the majority back in November, the hearings and convictions will begin.

The ACORN name swap is just a bait and switch. Now, in every state the darned ACORN criminal organization will have a different name. It will be much harder to track who/where they are and it will be harder for the average voter to agree that their corrupt activities in different jurisdictions are relatedas though they were all still named the same.
I don’t believe for a nanosecond that ACORN as a corrupt liberal political machine has been “dismantled”; not for a picosecond do I believe that.
There were two provisions in the original stumulus package which together totaled more than 5 billion $ that ACORN-esque agencies compete for. In addition, there is a specific earmark on the Senate form of the healthcare bill that specifies a role that can be competed for regarding funding for agencies like ACORN that can “help educate low income individuals about their healthcare options.”
NEVER count ACORN out...certainly not until we’re rid of Obama.

No, not roasted. ACORN is like a bad septic tank and fill. The main problem shows when crap gets backed up inside the house. However, outside, in the drain field and in your yard, crappy water seeps up and permeates the entire environment. All that disbanding ACORN, the national name has done is like snaking out the toilet, the backup septic tank and drain field still have the same problem
Where did the millions of dollars of taxpayer money that went to ACORN go. Like any crooked scam these ACORN people have taken the money and run. There will be no prosecutions, they will show up under different names.

They definitely have to be defunded. It’s ridiculous that a criminal totally partisan organization like ACORN can get away with claiming nonpartisan status and continue to recieve government funding. Can you imagine a group like the NRA asking for billions in government funding?
