Environmental activists have blasted Harrison Ford for making "unnecessary" trips by air, following revelations he once made a jet journey to buy a cheeseburger.

The "Indiana Jones" star began flying when he was 52. After receiving his license, he went on to purchase several aircraft, which he keeps at Santa Monica Airport in California.

Yeah I wonder how much CO2 Al Gore spews in in the form of burnt JP-4 out of HIS jet flying around spreading lies? I guess if you a an elitest snob or among the ruling class it's ok...the rest of us peons need to stay on the ground riding bicycles.

Signed Cessna 195 driver...

More environmentalist wackos who still are denying the collapse of the AWG scam...they are the real "deniers".

Dr. Wendy Buckley, director of the Web site, has called on Ford to set an environmental example and cut back on his flying.

Harrison Ford ... once made a jet journey to buy a cheeseburger.

I recall years ago reading about Howard Hughes doing the same thing (not in a jet though). Seems he liked the burgers at a place out in the desert and liked to take friends there.

Shame, shame!!!

(Well, he didn’t know. He thought he still lived in the United States of America.)

IMHO, how many flights Harrison Ford takes is none of the enviroloonies’ business. Those lowlifes should all be given 5 work days to find a job and do something productive with their lives. Failure to do so should be grounds for putting their asses in jail. Normal people should not have to put up with all the BS from these freaks of nature. The hoax and scam is over.

Pitiful- a 70 year old man( yeah, they keep changing his birthdate( originally it was 1940) thinks he’s Han Solo, takes up with a woman younger than some of his kids, and spouts environmental BS at every opportunity.
I guess all that jet fuel and heat doesn’t affect the planet if you’re ‘enlightened’ and use it to enlighten the common rabble. He SHOULD be slammed for his hypocrisy!
I guess if he’s confronted with his hypocrisy he’ll get after you with his bullwhip- or sic the Wookiee on ya. Talk about crossing the reality line!

Those fall under the heading of "necessary flights"...only Barry the Magnificent can take his wife to NY for a date night using Air Force One....not any of the rest of us....they make the rules but never live by them.

Ah but he IS an environmentalist loonie- and what he does IS their business- just as what we do is his-and theirs. They know how it looks for one of their own to talk the talk, but not walk the walk. He makes the ‘movement’ look bad, and they know that WE know it’s all BS.
This is Ford being slapped into line by his own kind.
I love to see hypocrites disciplining each other.

Ford is not enough of an elitist snob to get away with flying his own airplanes randomly around the country just for fun. He is not in the in-crowd apparently. It's not about the flying and emissions it's about who you are and who you know ...

But to THEM the flying IS necessary- because it’s them! They think of personal jets like we think of the family station wagon- except WE are pigs for driving our gas guzzlers for such unnecessary things as groceries and going to work. Ford and his ilk preach bicycles and walking and doing WITHOUT for all of us- but not for themselves.

p.s.- Xp38, eh? Own a used speeder lot, do ya? lol

From the article:

He [Mr. Ford] recently revealed in an interview the extent of his love for piloting, telling Britain’s Live magazine, “Learning to fly was a work of art. I’m so passionate about flying I often fly up the coast for a cheeseburger. Flying is like good music; it elevates the spirit and it’s an exhilarating freedom.”

IOW He’s using it the same way some people listen to music, or jog, or write, or whatever. At least, though, he’s using his own money.

Harrison Ford may be a jerk and probably tithes to Al Gore and Obama, but still, it’s his right to take his jet wherever he wants to take it.

Also, the people who fueled the jet at the airport got paid, the people who run the place where he stores it got paid, heck, the waitress at the burger place got paid. But I guess in a world where the best thing of all is to be on welfare and get checks from the government, this doesn’t matter anymore.

That's exactly what it's all about...has nothing to do with CO2 or global warming...it's about controlling other people's behavior to mitigate a sense of personal insecurity or envy...
