“Hes making sure all COLB records are kept in the deepest secure rooms available on Hawaii.”
That would be the ground floor of the Beachcomber, right? Is the Beachcomber still there?
Keeping it locked on FR. My TV is an obama free zone today. Looking for information, not grand standing.
There is nothing “puny” about a six foot tsunami. It is not like a surfable wave with a six foot face it is a six foot high wall of churning water that could push inland for a mile or more, even over land with higher elevation.
Ships put to sea in the face of tsunami warnings. The wave is much easier to deal with out there. Low height, very long. Near shore they get narrower and taller.
Can we get him out there for some surfing before the wave hits?
Kona is on the leeward side of the Big Island, Hilo is windward (I’m in Hilo). You won’t see anything until the event but what you should look for is water receding quickly and a surge inland after; that’ if it’s actually a seismic sea wave.
Kona (Kailua/Captain Cook) is on the west coast of the island of Hawaii, the largest of the islands, lower right on map.
If you look at the 2004 tsunami, most of the deaths were within a 100 yards or so of the beaches, and within shallow harbors.
What do I need to view this cam?
Nah, he's too busy grandstanding.
President Barack Obama holds conference call from the Situation Room of the White House concerning the earthquake in Chile, Feb. 27, 2010. Pictured are, left to right, Tom Donilon, deputy national security advisor, Rajiv Shah, administrator of USAID, and Rahm Emanuel, White House chief of staff. Other Cabinet officials joined the meeting by phone. (Official White House Photo by Pete Souza)
Where? What island? What parts of which islands?
FROM TWITTER:
At 10am HAST, all roads in tsunami inundation zones will be CLOSED. Get to where you need to be before then.
The Kona web cam just went out, it won’t reload for me, the live feed is Java and will not load either.
And Obummer is on the boob tube right now on CNN.
Mendocino Coast---Ft. Bragg, California. I actually read the time incorrectly. Due to hit us at 1:07PM. We have a B&B but luckily no one is here this week-end to be on the beach.
Who was the reporter that tried to ask about Charlie Rangel?
AND massive snowstorms that all basically pointed STRAIGHT at the White House??
Connect the dots!
Wow. Was that Zero’s shortest ‘face time’, evah! LOL!
