Nothing on the wires yet. No more news given than what I put in the headline.
You know in theory, that’s a good idea. My experience has been the minute you try to organize something that by nature is spontaneous- you’re in for disappointments.
If we look at some of these “events” on FR- we normally cover the challenges you mentioned.
Someone shows up who will copy/paste or otherwise save the website. We always share the links and URL’s in posts so experts are able to take it from there. We almost act as though we DO have a pre-arranged agreement and normally I see pings to other freepers who might know more about this topic- or where to find more.
We invariably have someone who lives in or near the area the news is happening- we get police dispatches and scanner traffic, local news stations and streaming coverage when necessary. Or someone’s cousin was there and called the freeper and gave an eyewitness account.
I don’t mean to throw cold water on your idea- I just have an innate distrust of committees! But- that’s just me and I’ve been wrong before.
If Bedell were a right-winged kook, you can damn well bet every measure possible would have been taken to keep him alive- and made an example of.
His FB page was scrubbed BEFORE his name was released. The DHS is eliminating cyber evidence before names are revealed. Its absolutely criminal what they’re doing.

Problem is, it looks like DHS wants to get to the info and scrub it before we do. I can’t tell you how disturbing that is.
Per report just now on FOX- so many rounds were fired they’re still counting them this morning.

No, I dont mean to over bureaucratize it either. But something in place to scare the guano out of our opponents. Of course, we end up doing that anyways, ask Dan Rather.

Oh yes I did. The first time I actually got a threatening phone call. I told the guy I had no obligation to give more information than the Constitution allowed them to ask for. He made some threatening noises but that was the end of it.
Since then, I have not been bothered other than for the time I got one of those incredibly long forms with tons of questions which I threw in the trash. I got a follow up letter which also went into the trash. That was the end of that.
Should any census workers show up, I will not open the door since they are hiring ACORN people and felons and they have no right to pester me anyway.
I just cannot permit myself to be intimidated by my government.

I’m coming in very late on all this news, so sorry if this is “old” or already found to be the wrong guy. Just thought the Jihad-like tie was pretty darn interesting. I haven’t had a chance to check out all the other friends from this page, but it looks like the main geographic area would be San Jose State as to where they all met.

Haven’t searched through his other friends (I’m coming at this late - just heard about it all...).
I saw mention that a different page was pulled off FB, but that could’ve been a “namesake” or someone that didn’t want to be confused with the shooter, too. This guys seems definitely more the “anti-American” type. Look at who he hangs with is all I have to say...
