I think they’re not backing away: they’re just testing the waters to see if the extreme left deserts them -— which it won’t. They’ll pretend to “consider” a mil tribunal, then do a civil trial somewhere other than NY.
I hope, but frankly I’ll be shocked if it doesn’t become the law of the land.

Agreed. But the key phrase is “Nancy claims”. She also “claims” there is no language in the bill that provides federal funding for abortion and yet it says it right there on page 2069.
Perhaps the reason we don’t know the names of these “10” is because they only exist in Nancy’s brain (or lack thereof). “
I agree, Nazi Pelosi has claimed a lot of things over the past year on this issue. I remember a Drudge headline from last August, one of those bright red headlines in caps that said “PELOSI: ‘I HAVE THE VOTES.’”
She also said we would have a health bill passed before the August recess, by the end of the year (2009), and now by the Easter break. I think this woman is delusional or possibly insane.
Nothing is for sure and we certainly can’t afford to let up on pressuring our congresspeople, but I don’t believe for a second that they are close to passing this thing. If they were, she’d have a vote scheduled for this weekend.
And yet, like lemmings, they persist in marching off the cliff.

The “Unanimous Consent” Republicans sicken me. 18 of them decided to vote NAY when the vote was finally recorded. Spineless.
My gut feel on this is that nobama, peelousi and dingy harry are bluffing and stalling for time to twist a few more arms. In the longrun they won’t be able to pull it off. The closer we get to Nov. elections the more nervous the dems will get. Its just like passing a big tax hike right before mid-term elections, it sort of that third rail to NEVER touch, the dems know this with no doubt.
Look at it this way, if the dems could push it through they would have done it when they had the 60 votes in the Senate, they could not then because they didn’t have their own people, they will not now.
They were shooting for an ego ideal that was a total fantasy. Basically, it is the same story over and over again. They hate god because they want to be gods. In the process they create bigger and bigger failures until they realize they can’t be gods because god does not fail by definition.
Often it just kills them.
Beleive it. Health care has no chance of passing.
Pelosi seems deranged to me.. however, ONE time she DID have the votes. When the House version of the bill passed. But since a different version passed the Senate, we are still where we are.
