You’re lying. I never said a thing supportive of nor advocated capitulating to government or completing the form in its entirety. I have stated several times on this thread that the best thing to do (and is what we will be doing) is answering only the household headcount information.
The more silly or snide or cocky answers and remarks you guys put on there, the more ammo you give them against you. In the alternative, you could just go to the census office and wave a red flag in their faces.
There’s a reason why lawyers tell their clients not to talk and not volunteer anything, and that reason is that the more you say, the more you reveal inconsistencies and weaknesses in your position. We have the right to remain silent, and shutting up when it comes to the “authorities” is ALWAYS the best course. Let them hurl THEIR best case at you BEFORE you reveal what your best case against them is. Just answering their questions at all may indicate that you acknowledge they have the right to ask them. If your point is that they don’t have that right, then DON’T ANSWER AT ALL. Don’t be cute, cocky, trite, silly or anything. Just SHUTUP as to any questions not authorized by the constitution. If they try to prosecute or harass people to get more information out of them, they have no clue as to what your argument would be, who you are, how smart (or stupid) you are, what your political beliefs are (there are also lefties who find the form intrusive - it’s not just us) if you haven’t revealed any of that through silly answers or big, blowhard statements about rights and so on. Since we know this administration has usurped and taken control of the census process itself and have a bunch of thug types handling it, we know they’ll be gunning for conservatives. Don’t paint a damned target on your forehead.

I think the gubmint census bureau will be looking at tens of millions of surveys from conservatives & libertarians who will answer or not answer in a variety of ways.
Who died & appointed you the Supreme Being to declare how FReepers should choose to fill out their surveys if they want to register a protest in their own way?

Go read the “Art of War” by Sun Tzu. Choose your battles wisely. Avoid battles in which your opponent has the advantage. But if you want this psycho administration to open up a special prosecution unit for census protesters, by all means, antagonize them, draw attention to conservatives, and do all you can to typify a useful conservative idiot for media ridicule circulation. Give them plenty of fodder, like proving you don't know the difference between race and nationality. We're talking about filling out a frikkin survey here... whether you choose to not answer questions 2-10 or to answer them as N/A, will not matter to any Census worker who may call or visit to follow up. I think a follow up call or visit by the Census Bureau is a dead certainty more by not answering questions 2-10 rather than a bland N/A.
And Michelle Bachman is the greatest & is in my state of MN, but I know she would not get huffy & testy & hostile, as you are, by choosing to leave 2-10 blank or answering with N/A or putting American or some hyphenated response in #9.
And yes, when I see your angry response(s) & baiting remarks like this, plus your very recent enrollment in FR, I think you are a troll and are just here to stir up angry exchanges.

The fine for not answering all the questions (ALL the questions together, not each question not answered) is $100. The fine for EACH question answered falsely is $500. Nobody has been prosecuted for this since the 1960 census as near as I can confirm. But we never had zero for president and we never had Chicago-style thugs running the census nor have we ever had it taken over and privately micromanaged by a corrupt fascist president’s administration.
I’m actually not a newbie. I was a member from the late 90s into the early 2000s - about 4 years. But on that subject, being a member for 3, 8, or 12 years does not make one person any more right about a particular subject than somebody who joined five minutes ago. That is a complete fallacy. Not answering vs answering N/A is not going to make a difference to the Census Bureau. Why would N/A or answerwing “American” constitute a false answer? You really are a troll & an arrogant a__hole! As for Bachman, we have her words to look at to determine what her opinion is. She was speaking to the public, not privately to her husband, mother or neighbor. She said what she said to the public, and that is to only answer question #1. You don’t know her and you don’t have any personal insight or mindreading capabilities to say she really meant something else or what she would say or think about giving silly or non-responsive answers to the questions just because it’s convenient for you right now to claim you know what she would say or think or argue over. In other words, you’re blowing smoke. I would also add, contrary to your claim of knowing what she’d say or think or argue about, that it’s very possible she’s already considered the same things I’ve explained to you about why it’s a dumb idea to respond to anything except #1 and that is how she arrived at her advice/urging to only answer #1. But I doubt that that obvious possibility has occurred to you.
