Is that for loan collection? or failure to toe the PC line?
What? They are going to Educate or (Indoctrinate) children at Gunpoint?? Great........
Didn’t the IRS do the same thing last month???
I’m sure it must be obvious, but I don’t get it...why does the Dept. of Ed. need shotguns? In fact, why do we need a Dept. of Ed.?
Thats just going to pi$$ off the other several million gun carriers.
What do they expect to be able to do with so few guns. Oh.... maybe when Zerocare falls short they are going to commit mass suicide. hmmmmmmmm
The 16” minimum barrel length is for us peasants.....
Sounds like someone is considering making a MONUMENTAL mistake.
14 in. LOP refers to “Length of Pull”. In shotgunning, this refers to the measured distance between the inside of the shooter’s elbow and the first joint of the trigger finger. This is in effect the distance between the trigger and the butt of the shotgun. In trapshooting, this is adjustable on some shotguns by adjusting screws, or adding a recoil pad. 14 in. is a general figure for arsenal-grade weapons and means (generally) that any trained shooter can bring this weapon on target with a high degree of accuracy. The Remington 870 is an excellent choice for a defensive shotgun.
Of course, why the Dept. of Education needs combat grade shotguns is another matter entirely.
Well, they can’t teach kids to read or write very well but they have selecting a good model!
The 16 minimum barrel length is for us peasants.....
Wrong! 16 inches for rifles, 18 inches for shotguns.
To leavenworth with you!
Isn't that the "krelbow"?
Or they’ll use them to commit sewercide because of the impending general default caused by employed government waste. They should purchases Claymores, too, although they might encounter some difficulty in deciding how to orient those (”FRONT TOWARD ENEMY”). ;-)
Seems pretty clear to me.
Maybe they intend to do the right thing by offing themselves, for NCLB.
Combat training? I don't remember that course in high school. Hmm, college did have a "rifle marksmanship" course which was fun...
Seriously, why do ED personnel need combat training?
"Class-You'd better figure out that quadratic equation. I'm not responsible for what happens to those who fail".
No doubt for use in gun-free school zones.
Must be they need them to train on school board members who refuse to submit to union contract demands.
So!! the department of education has a combat element? Why?
Did the FBI pick up rumors of a dangerous insurgency by third graders?
I think I will call my congress man in the morning.
“.. the only shotguns authorized for ED...”
Erectile Dysfunction commericials just keep getting more strange! What next, the gecko or the duck?
U.S. Department of Education Purchase Order for 27 Remington Shotguns
WTH does the Dept of Education need shotguns for?
18” for shotguns. 16” for rifles.
I’d like to think that they’re going to build trap ranges, but...you know. This is really weird. The Dept. of Education was created by Jimmy Carter as a campaign promise to the teachers union for supporting his presidential campaign. In doing so, Carter in effect gave the hyper-left NEA a cabinet post, and total control over public education in our country. We’re reaping that harvest now.
If one were to look past the obvious silliness of the headline I would assume that the weapons are for building security in D.C. Of course Duncan could be planning a trip back to Chicago. That alone would justify the purchase.
Same thing the IRS is buying!
Dept. of Education
Soon to be the Dept. of Re-Education.
A big hint about upcoming changes in disciplinary standards?
Maybe for truant student SWAT Team raids? It is weird.
I go on FedBizzOps almost daily - I hope Drudge does not get in trouble for linking there - you have to sign and agreement on the info you see there is limited to business.
They better beware, though.
Most homeschoolers (and their children) have better and longer range guns, and know how to use them.
We don’t, per the 10th amendment.
Also posting link here in case the wayback machine has to be activated on this one:
Bingo we need to severely limit what federal agencies can have firearms
Can any Republicans in congress due anything about this?
What Good Can a Handgun Do Against An Army?
How many do they have in the "existing shotgun inventory"?
Do they have an "existing inventory" of other-than-shotguns?
How’d they like it?
