Communism was very popular in our grand parents day. He begins with talking about the Nazi rally at Madison Square Garden in 1939. And then there was a large march in the Hamptons. But the main word that puts it all in perspective is "Progressive." Progressives were in both parties. Just remember that when you hear progress and social justice, watch out.
Getting proper history......... THIS history into the history books needs to be a goal.
We need to protect ourselves from big government.
This was the first time I had heard any of this. Amazing how our history has already been manipulated.
It was manipulated right from the very beginning.
These progressives knew that if they wanted their goals of economic and social justice, history had to be incorrect right at the outset. All of this had to be erased.
These are very scary people, and having an ability to control the very history we know is powerful indeed.
The existence of the American Nazi Party is something everybody knew about during that period. It wasn’t a secret at all.
More interesting was Beck’s information regarding Father Coughlin and the Magaazine Social Justice.
Pat Buchanan used to brag how his father loved to listen to Father Coughlin on the radio.

The fascists are much more subtle today.
Now they roam the halls of Congress instead of Madison Square Garden.

These shows are Beck at his best.
We know the Glenn Beck type as kids: the boy who runs around our classes and annoys us, who plays tricks, sometimes mean—but not necessarily out of meanness. He can’t sit still. His appetite for everything is voracious. He’s not always right, but he can be a real class clown and make everyone laugh. Lots of times, he can’t get his work done and so you end up helping him. By then, he’s usually bored to tears with what you’re saying. But you see he’s smart as a whip and just like him for some reason. We all had these people in our growing up years, catching fireflies, exploring creeks, playing cowboys and indians, making stupid fun of people passing by.
The fun part of Beck is that this appears to be new to him, too.

Really? I have seen this video literally hundreds of times on various TV programs about the depression, WWII, Nazism, neo-Nazism, etc. Honestly I think I saw it first before I was even 12 years old (and that was a long time ago).

What Beck doesn’t really hit home hard enough on is the Nazis and Communists are just branches of the same tree, just different means to the same same end.
In fact, the Nazis under Hitler and the Communists under Stalin were strong allies, until June 21, 1941, when the Nazis invaded the Soviet Union.
Exactly. More like brothers than enemies, but it turned into a sibling rivalry.
What really happened here is interesting and illustrative.
Communists in the US and all over the world were very anti-Nazi, but that all changed in the snap of the fingers when Hitler and Stalin signed a non-aggression pact in August 1939. So when Nazis invaded Poland, it was all good. The Communists were all very supportive. (Interestingly, it was the signing of this pact with Germany that caused Whittaker Chambers to finally decide to break with communism. He couldn’t understand how communists could be so against the Nazis, then just because a paper was signed, become their ally. This was before the phrase “cognitive dissonnance” was commonly used.)
They even leveraged the fame of Charles Lindbergh to this end, an honorable man who allowed himself to be duped by the Nazis (on his tour of Germany) into thinking there is no way we should go to war with Germany because they were too powerful. They made hay out of that. In retrospect, the Nazis had contrived to make themselves look even more powerful by waiting until Lindbergh left an airfield, then they would fly all the planes to the next airfield on his schedule to visit, so his impression of the might of the Nazi Luftwaffe was inflated.
