Just got a room in Germantown, MD. I’m told the last room at the Hilton near the Metro station was just booked in the last hour. That’s very encouraging.

Side note, we went to Mt. Vernon today and G. Washington’s words should ring true for us all. He rallied his commanders by telling them, “this is our land and they shall not take it from us.”

Just before communism fell in Poland, I asked my friend's Polish nanny why she was going to the dentist so often. "Oh, it's great here. You have, what's it called?, novocaine?"
Half of my family is in Poland. What you said is true. I'll never forget my visit there, just after the Wall fell. My cousin was driving a WWII era motorcycle (his primary means of transportation) that had been in continuous operation since WWII.
When I came home, I wanted to kiss the ground. By then, it was too late for me to thank my dad for having emigrated from Poland just after the war. He died four years before the Wall fell.
One thing my dad left me was a clear understanding of communism. I have plenty of communist relatives, even on my mother's English side. One of my English uncles is a former Labor union boss (and Marxist). He retired with 4 years sick pay, abandoned his wife, and left to sail around the world on his yacht with his mistress.

I think there is a certain segment of the population to whom the concept of liberty is virtually unimportant. They do not want to be independent, expect to be taken care of by the government, and voted for Obama because they envisioned he would free up money for them. They do not mind waiting in long lines or in hospitals. They call ambulances to take them to hospitals for head colds and charge it all to Medicaid. IT is almost pointless to try to convince liberals, particularly those who are in racial minorities to understand the evils of socialism. They have for too long been the recipients of government largesse and have no wish to curtail it.
Go thru the capitol and raise hell. These people are destroying the Constitution and our medical system.
From the little that I know about this conservative actor, he seems to have the proper "fire in the belly" along with a terrier personality.
It's not a comforting thought that what's happening right now is something that God is perfectly okay with.
If this atrocity is passed, this is exactly what we can expect.
