If this thing passes on Sunday, what will the stock market look like in Monday?

I'll be buying massive put options on every healthcare company. If this passes they will all be at ZERO in 4 years.

Is the increase in tax on cap gains for everyone or just those with taxable income > 250K?

I tracked down the proposed 2.9% medicare tax on investment income and that appears to be only for the “rich.”

I say let this disguised “health care” pass. Let the pieces fall where they may.
We have been heading for a good toilet cleaning for some time.
There are not enough government goons to go around. Government goons who arrest us will be in short supply in short order.
Anybody else sick & tired of this over-regulation and insanity?

I guess I’m really on their list now.

Get taxed the first ‘4’ years( yeah, right ), and then the government will ‘give’ you, a type, of ‘health care’.

It is like giving a street crack dealer your money and waiting on the corner for him to come back with the ‘goods’.

Who would be so stupid?

Any indication what the fine would be for “Failure to Purchase”?

Continuing our conversation from the other thread:

These numbers comport with earlier reports on the costs to individuals and families when the senate bill first came out. The Kaiser Family Foundation has a website where you can compute your cost based on the senate version of the bill. Mine will come out to $760.00 a month.

I believe the fine is smaller than the cost of insurance.

Experts predict that more and more families will be forced off of employer insurance and have to buy their own coverage because employers will be faced with the choice of paying premiums of several thousands dollars per employee for group insurance or paying a fine of just $750 per employee for not providing coverage.

Bye, bye employer provided insurance plans and hello government can you please take my temp? Not just NO, but HELL NO, PLEASE DIE.

The small business I work for, is already planning this. We simply can't afford it anymore.

So basically this is a mandated tax for the privilege of being alive.

Life Tax... Tea Tax... without representation.

How’d that all work out again?

We simply can't afford it anymore.

Health care costs are killing America, citizens and business alike. The only thing the Dems have come up with to "control" these costs is to ration health care. There are other solutions, but we all know the end goal of this administration is control. It never has been about fixing health care.
