McCollum to file lawsuit against health care bill

ORLANDO, FL -- Moments after Congress voted to approve President Obama's health care legislation, Florida's Attorney General announced he will file a lawsuit to declare the bill unconstitutional.

Bill McCollum will join Attorneys General from South Carolina, Nebraska, Texas, Utah, Pennsylvania, Washington, North Dakota and South Dakota to file a lawsuit against the federal government.

"The health care reform legislation passed by the U. S. House of Representatives this evening clearly violates the U.S. Constitution and infringes on each state's sovereignty," McCollum said in a statement distributed late Sunday night.

"If the President signs this bill into law, we will file a lawsuit to protect the rights and the interests of American citizens."

McCollum will hold a press conference at his Orlando office Monday morning to discuss his plans.

I’d love to see hundreds of PERSONAL lawsuits against Reid, Pelsi, Hoyer, and Obutthole.

Are their any legal funds being set up that we can fund?

I’ve lost all faith in men...THERE will be NOTHING that can save this country..it’s a done deal. The courts are set to serve the communist...they will rule for the evil rats. I HAVE LOST FAITH.

Nothing is going to happen. The courts will simply dismiss it saying federal law trumps state law.

The fight is over.

Kudos to Bill McCollum. Charlie Crist in on his tanning bed.

We need to get every AG from states that will do it to sign on. We want it overthrown - not partial but all of it.

Anyone know what they can tear out of the bill or can it be found totally unconstitutional in total?

Good job NoonRep for your posts in firing people up!!

Many thanks!

Just as in 1776 and 1860 the real resistant to tyrannical government come from the several states.

The only way this will have any teeth, is if the states refuse to abide by it when the courts throw out the lawsuit.

This SC has done big things in regards to the 2nd amendment and campain finance. I suspect they will address at least some of this bill. They actually seem to be using the Constitution in their recent decisons.

I wonder is George Soros willing to pay potentially hundreds of millions in legal fees trying to defend Reid, Pelosi, etc. from what could be so many lawsuits that the health care reform may never become law when it's tied up in the courts for two to four years.

Damn dude. It’s a good thing the founding fathers didn’t carry your defeatist attitude.

It’s not over until the American people say it’s over. This is clearly unconstitutional.

Add discrimination since it strips my ability to afford health care by eliminating Medicare Advantage EXCEPT FOR FLORIDA!

Good. I hope they get MORE states to sue and drag in a whole host of Amicus Curiae supporters.

BUT the REAL problem is the Obamabastard. They should support those “birther” suits. AND the GOP should draw up Articles of Impeachment against his bastard - just to make a point and get ready in case we take over Congress in November.

What Clinton did was NOTHING compared to what this bastard is doing and INTENDS to do in the future.
