When I asked John McCain what he would say to his old friend Ted Kennedy this morning, he smiled and said "Congratulations."
But he had nothing good to say about the legislation that passed the House late last night.
Calling it "a massive government takeover of the health care system," he promised the GOP would fight it on all fronts: challenging the reconciliation "fix" bill in the Senate, moving more broadly to repeal the bill later this year, questioning its Constitutionality in the courts and, of course, hoping to reap electoral gains come November.
Of course his opponent wasn't fit either, but for different reasons.
Next time Time magazine backs a candidate IGNORE THEM and HIM.
Congratulations? For what? Stealing my liberties? McCain is a tool and is one of the main reasons we are in the fix we are.
McCain gave us McCain Feingold which gave us a Dem congress 2006/2008 and Obama 2008.
We are here thanks to McCain. Bush should have veto’ed the law too.
I hope JD uses that comment in his campaign.

question, the IRS will keep track of those who have health insurance, and whomever doesn’t will be fined. what about all the ILLEGALS who are here and don’t FILE tax returns. another law that will violate the Equal Protection Clause. those who thumb their nose at our immigration laws, taxes, id fraud, will have NO FINES. am i right about that?

It’s as good as there, he’s a smart man, JD. McCain, the all collegial, makes me sick to my stomach... like drinking tepid, slightly salty water makes you feel like throwing up. “I would that you were hot or cold, but because you are lukewarm I spit you out of my mouth” ...God.
