Hard to believe that even if a repeal bill passes, that Obama will not veto. And then, to override the veto, a 2/3 majority is required.

Won’t happen. Constitutional challenge in the courts is the only way to stop this nonsense. (Republicans are hoping to use this repeal pie-in-the-sky to raise money, IMO. Worth trying, I guess, but its an extreme long-shot.)

An amendment yes. But not a constitutional convention.

At a convention, they can modify the constitution in any way they want. That’s way too risky.

Which spineless Republican is going to run against the media claim the they are “Trying to take away your free health care”? I thought so. Elections will not solve this anymore.

Running on it and actually doing it are two very different things. Talk is cheap.

I feel MUCH better about our leaders in DC (GOP) than I did a year ago. Some of them were amazing.

Lead us on Ryan !!!! Remember, Carter gave us REAGAN.

Obama giving us Pres. Ryan?

Replacing liberals with liberals. Doesn't change the balance of power, just extends the clock on how long it will take to get rid of them.

First things first ... we don’t have the votes to repeal it, we didn’t even have the votes to stop it. So FIRST we get he votes, THEN we talk repeal. Talking repeal now is smoke and just makes you “feel” good like some other smoke the left wingnuts light up.

Focus on November, not just for Health Care Repeal, but for Amnesty, Climate Change and all the other left-wierdo save-the-earth-and-its-people ideas. Without an overwhelming win in November, we’d might as well buy a ticket out’a here!

It’s time to get focused on “what’s next” ... and repeal is step #2!

It will take FOUR YEARS for this to reach the Supreme Court... not gonna happen, once the benefits start flowing.

I wish it could happen but I don't believe for a second Republicans have the desire or capability to repeal it. Most likely scenario is that the Pubbies pick up many seats, maybe enough to have majorities in both houses, and then focus on keeping those seats by fixing enough of the objectionable parts (See? We are working on it!) to quell the more outspoken conservative groups.

From here on out we will only get to change the size and shape of the thing but not its existence. I don't believe it ends here since 51% have now proven that they wish to rule the other 49%.

Maybe polls showed that the majority of Americans did not like this bill but the majority of people in this country like the idea of having their health care managed by the government and paid for by someone else.

The better question is “will it be repealed”? No.

How many battls did Washington lose before he won the war?

This can be overturned for the same reason as the Roe vs. Wade ruling. First, our health care is not for the government to control. Secondly, this HC bill favors some state over others.. clearly unconstitutional. Third, the government cannot force anyone to purchase something. Last, the government restricting a bank’s intent regarding loans (student loans, for example) is unconstitutional.

34 states to say it’s unconstitutional. I believe there are already close to 30 who are going to challange it. This might be doable.

The states can’t afford this monster. Healthcare should be a state issue. If one state “gives away” more in healthcare, then I guess they may see an influx of illegal aliens. But, do not dispair, they will have plenty of people to do “jobs Americans won’t do”.

I think the article is talking about repeal as a "roadmap", with winning the elections in 2010 and 2012 as the key milestones to getting there. If the GOP can preach a unified "repeal and real reform" platform, they can take over the House this year (Senate would be trickier, just based on the few seats available to pick up), and use that power to slow/stop the process by defunding it. Then, with full majorities in 2012 and a Republican President, repeal can actually happen.

The point is, the "lag" window the 'rats put in to generate the bogus CBO numbers actually works to the GOP advantage now, because it will be much, much easier to repeal it before the actual bureaucracy is put in place

Repeal by amendment to the constitution.

Before we had the numbers to do that, we would have the votes to repeal it over Zero's veto. And maybe even to find an excuse to impeach and remove the commie twerp.

Some here are too young to remember the Medicare Catastrophic Coverage Act of 1988. Others may have forgotten.

In 1988 despite an outcry from many older Americans, who were angry at having to pay surtax for mandatory coverage that some did not want or need, Congress passed the bill.

Seniors went nuts. At one point House Ways and Means chairman Rep. Dan Rostenkowski, was chased down a Chicago street by a group of elderly people opposed to the bill. They trapped him in his car and started rocking it. The cops had to rescue him.

The law was repealed in 1989. Prescription drugs were not added to Medicare again until Bushcare passed in 2003.

Don’t let anyone tell you an entitlement can’t be repealed. The leftists just don’t want people to know it can be done.
