Unions in Ohio says they won't back state's only House Democrat to oppose health care bill

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Two unions with thousands of members in Ohio say they will no longer support the state's only House Democrat to vote against the health care bill.

The Service Employees International Union and the United Food and Commercial Workers union on Monday expressed disappointment with southeast Ohio Rep. Zack Space. UFCW spokeswoman Allison Petonic (peh-TAH'-nik) calls Space's no vote Sunday "an anti-worker vote."

Petonic says union members campaigned for Space in 2006 and 2008 but won't do it again this year.

The bill passed 219-212 with 34 Democrats and all Republicans opposed.

Space had said he believed the bill would financially burden the working class and give insurance companies a windfall. Messages for comment were left with his Washington office Monday.

More Union Thuggery at work. Anyone who didn't think this vote had anything to do with Unions is a fool.

Any help we can get to gain a majority in the House next November is appreciated.

Best news that Democrat could have gotten. How did that massive SEIU support of millions of dollars work out for Martha Coakley?

Not only thuggery, but stupidity.

Unions that nationalize and politicize the subjects on which they have collectivley bargained have no future role in the lives of their workers.

The unions have been committing suicide for decades.

Thanks for killing off your own guys you stupid morons.

Unions are simply filled with mindless, shiftless, unthinking worker ants.

Start. Wake up. Work. Drink Beer. Sleep. Repeat 5 times. Wake up. Bitch. Moan. Drink Beer. Sleep. Repeat 2 times. Start again.

ANY work I have done is limited to non-Union contractors, period, from last November onward.

I'm sorry, but the members are too eager to follow-the-leader, and the Leaders are over-paid funders of socialist dictators and Constitution-shredders.

It's time to start drawing the lines on where our remaining limited income (after taxes) is going. I'll work for cash wherever possible from now on, too.

It's time we took a stand.

No purchases from Obama Motors, no purchases from Unionized establishments, and no purchases from KNOWN funders of the assholes in Washington that are screwing us daily.

Can you ping the Ohio list? We need to make sure that Zack gets support for standing his ground.

Exactly. If Union thugs want to help us get a super majority then that’s fine with me.

These unions are in for a rude awakening when the states go bust along with their pensions.

Unions don’t speak for workers - they speak for unions.

Union Members are too stupid & lazy to think for themselves!

...just following plantation owner Andy Stern's orders.

Show me a dem who voted NO, and I’ll show you one who got the green ‘NO’ light from pelosi, and would have voted ‘YES’ if needed.

Now that the bill is passed, if they want to take out a democrat for us, that’s fine by me. All democrats are bad, even the ones that voted right this time, because they all support Nancy Pelosi and the corrupt leadership.

If he wants to switch parties, then that’s different, and we can primary him if we want.

A bunch of Republicans are lining up to challenge Space. Here’s the list:

OH 18-Zack Space’s opponents, Bob Gibbs, http://www.bobgibbsforcongress.com/, Jeanette Moll, http://www.jeanettemoll.com/home.htm, Fred Dailey, http://www.freddaileyforcongress.com/, Patrick Carlisle, Beau Bromberg

Don’t be suckered. Zack Space would have been there for Nancy Pelosi had his vote been needed. Political calculation on the ground was that Zack’s seat could be saved while Driehaus and maybe Boccieri were already dead men walking.

Zack however has been drawing some lackluster opposition but he’s going to go down as long as everyone doesn’t get suckered in by him being a “blue dog”. He is not, he is a lawyer and a liberal in a red district.

Thanks for the update on Zack. At this point, we don’t need to go throwing good money after bad.
