Gun prohibitionists are disingenuous, hypocritical
Seattle Gun Rights Examiner ^ | 25 March, 2010 | Dave Workman

Posted on 03/26/2010 1:10:18 PM PDT by marktwain

Yesterday’s column about the record number of concealed pistol license holders overlooked one point that should be mentioned: The anti-gun Violence Policy Center has a website devoted to homicides allegedly committed by people who have carry permits.

The website, Concealed Carry Killers, keeps a running tally that claims more than 150 victims of legally-armed citizens, and the count includes nine police officers. This was put together, of course, to discredit the 6 million citizens who haven’t killed anybody with their legally-carried handguns.

One might wonder if this scorecard includes Barbara Graham of Washington, D.C. Well, no, it couldn’t, because she didn't actually kill anybody. Graham is the anti-gun activist who, on Jan. 26, 2000, illegally carried a .45-caliber pistol that belonged to her murdered son to the home of the man she believed responsible for the slaying. He wasn’t, but that didn’t help Kikko Smith, then 23, when Graham pulled the pistol and shot him, leaving him paralyzed for life. I say illegally carried because there are no carry permits in the District of Columbia, and at the time handguns were banned, proving that if somebody – even an anti-gunner – wants to violate firearms laws to commit a heinous crime, a gun ban isn’t going to slow them down.

Witnesses said Graham, who has three living children and who was distraught over the loss of her son and frustrated with police efforts to catch her son's killer, went to Smith's house with her son's .45-cal. handgun

Graham, who had spoken at the Million Mom March rally, was convicted of that crime, and we’re lucky. Sure wouldn’t want her hanging around a Starbucks, huh?

“Gun prohibitionists are disingenuous, hypocritical”

Of course they are. Just like the ‘greenies’, what they’re really after isn’t guns, but the ideology of those holding the guns. All leftist causes are just a means to an end, aside from a handful of whacko hangers-on who really buy into their idiocy.

Gun grabbers are just the smarter, next stage thinking group of leftists, who, in general, get a sexual thrill thinking about using the government to punish their political opponents.

They know that unless the guns are removed from the equation (on the side of those resisting the state),

a lot of statists get extra holes in them.

VPC is always like this.

They did a .50 caliber gun crime report a while ago. Claiming the .50 cal was a scourge on the streets and all that noise.

One of their claims a guy was trying to sell .50 cals to FARC. Problem is that he tried to sell em to an undercover agent, and he didn’t actually even have any .50 cals. Apparently he was just trying to rip FARC off. Would imagine FARC probably would have killed him if he tried it with them instead of an undercover agent.

Researching all their claims (about 100 of them) only two crimes were actually committed with a .50 caliber.

One was completely unverifiable, the other some guy installed 2 .50 cals on an armored bulldozer and was driving the bulldozer through crap. Course he never did actually fire the .50’s but why bother when you have an armored bulldozer...

Fear of weapons is a sign of retarded sexual and emotional maturity .

- Sigmund Freud

Quemadmoeum gladius neminem occidit, occidentis telum est.
(A sword is never a killer, it’s a tool in the killer’s hands.)

- Lucius Annaeus Seneca “the Younger” (ca. 4 BC-65 AD)

Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those
who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes.
Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better
for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than
prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked
with greater confidence than an armed one.
- Thomas Jefferson quoting Cesare Beccaria, Criminologist 1764.

A strong body makes the mind strong.
As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun.
While this gives moderate exercise to the body,
it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to
the mind.
Games played with the ball and others of that nature,
are too violent for the body and stamp no character
on the mind.
Let your gun therefore be the constant companion of
your walks.
- Thomas Jefferson, in a letter to his nephew

The constitutions of most of our States assert, that
all power is inherent in the people;that they may
exercise it by themselves, in all cases to which
they think themselves competent, ... or they may act
by representatives, freely and equally chosen; that
it is their right and duty to be at all times armed;
that they are entitled to freedom of person, freedom
of religion, freedom of property, and freedom of the
press.
- The Living Thoughts of Thomas Jefferson, pp.46 - 47,
Presented by John Dewey

Gun control laws increase the power of government and
the criminal element over the average citizen and serve
no other purpose.

- Robert E. Lee

Not that I'm saying to give VPC's propaganda site any hits, but here is a link to the referred-to page: Concealed Carry Killers

It would be easy enough to spool everything off to my own site and point to there, but that would probably invite the attention of lawyers.

A possible 150 out of 6 million concealed carry holders? How many people prohibited from even possessing a single round of ammo committed murder or attempted murder during that same time?
