A national ID card in 2010?
Fox News ^ | 3/11/2010 | N/A

A new attempt at immigration reform may require a biometric ID card for all working Americans. Privacy advocates aren't pleased

National identification cards, long feared by privacy advocates, may soon become mandatory for American workers. In a bipartisan effort to curb the hiring of illegal immigrants, Sens. Charles Schumer (D-NY) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) have proposed legislation that, if passed, will require all working Americans to carry biometric ID cards containing fingerprint records and other personal information. Sen. Schumer calls the measure "the nub of solving the immigration dilemma." But Chris Calabrese, an American Civil Liberties Union lawyer, warns the cards would be a "massive invasion" of privacy. Are national ID cards the solution to our immigration woes — or an unacceptable intrusion into our lives? (Watch Ron Paul chime in on the national ID card debate)

“This will be the proverbial straw that broke the camels back”

Don’t bank on it. That back should have broken long before now. Obama isn’t any more dangerous than the millions of idiots who voted him in. They scare me more. He has been able to do in this country to a sizable degree because of them.

“He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name.”

That’s why it must be put off until after the November elections. Stall it in anyway you can.

Bush kept telling us that the terrorists attacked us because they hate our freedoms.
But as far as I can tell, the terrorists never took away any of our freedoms, the government did, in the name of fighting those terrorists.

0bama has continued the Bush era assault on personal liberty and privacy.
We’re turning into a police state, and the terrorists aren’t the ones doing it to us.

“In a bipartisan effort to curb the hiring of illegal immigrants...”

Now, FReepers and Republicans, you aren’t total sucker buffoons, are you?

You will carry your ID until they kill you. You will produce your ID WHENEVER and WHEREVER the NSF, or any other gov’t goon demands it. They will turn it OFF if you disobey, leaving you without identity, without your bank account, without “permission” to drive, and on, and on...

Think that’s crazy?

If you take this ID...

There is no other way to say it.

If you take this ID you will become the property of the state.

I’ve not advocated violence on this forum.

We must act to save ourselves if they try this.

This must not happen.

It must not come to pass, Americans.

Sen. Schumer calls the measure "the nub of solving the immigration dilemma."

How? Illegals will still be able to sneak in and work off the books for cash, or sell drugs, or smuggle other illegals, or perform other nefarious endeavors and you can bet nobody will deny them free healthcare.

Missouri opted out of the Real ID a year or two ago as a sovereignty violation. I suspect there will be no national ID card issued to Missiurians.

Let’s not forget the inevitability of GPS tracking being implemented.

And all sorts of anti-human freedom, technological horrors of oppression that are certain to follow.

All in good time, my fellow World Citizens.

But Chris Calabrese, an American Civil Liberties Union lawyer, warns the cards would be a "massive invasion" of privacy.

I can't believe that I'm siding with the ACLU on this one, but.......

they do have a point....

I'm thinking that this might be just a stealth way of issuing cards that are - in the small print - UNION CARDS.

Remember a few short weeks ago some day nursury had to start paying union dues because some of the mothers of the children paid them with Government money?

Remember that the unions are trying to get into your 401K...this would give them justification IF you were a dues paying union member.

We may just be "assimilated" in the union of their choice and then the obama cycle would be complete...as all communism/socialism is, is one, BIG, union.

Also, as another freeper said, they will be able to track you in whatever you do...(like they don't already). I wouldn't doubt the damn thing has a GPS chip in it.

Heil comrades, I vant to see Juur papersz.

Except for illegal votes. I wonder if they every considered biometric confirmation before allowing anyone to vote.

Silly question, I know.

You can bet that they will use obamacare—castro approved, for gun control. The d mayor of Memphis AC Wharton already let that cat out of the bag when he said that gun crime was a health care issue.

Exactly. This is just another example of a statist wet dream that decent, law-abiding shee—I mean, citizens, will observe while the next wave of invaders will just ignore.
We don’t need no stinkin’ badges!

Dontcha know? This ID card is going to be a real boost to the economy.

Why, think of the employment and business opportunities that will crop up in the fake ID card business. It’ll create a real grassroots enterprise and there will be hundreds of new jobs being created to make these new fake cards.

Think of all that money that will be flowing into the economy. People will have money to spend and the government will likely figure out a way to tax it and thereby reduce the deficit by .0000000000001%.

God help us.....
