No. 1 cable news host Bill O'Reilly said Tuesday that he will personally write a check to cover $16,500 in legal costs for the father of a fallen U.S. Marine who sued the members of a church who picketed his son's funeral.

According to news reports, the members of the Westboro Baptist Church, located in Topeka, Kan., believe that God is punishing the United States because of its acceptance of gay people. The church garners attention for its views by protesting high-profile funerals.

Any person who protests at a military person’s funeral is beneath contempt and does not deserve one iota of sympathy. They should not be let anywhere near the funeral. Protestors who do this have no sense of morality and decency as is usual with leftwingers and liberals.

Good for BOR. Will the father have to pay income tax on that money?

The Westboro Baptist ‘Church’ sounds more like a cult than anything else.

A gift can be made tax free up to a certain amount per year. I think it is $12,000.00, but I could be wrong. ONe to one family member and one to another and he should be good.

Does anybody counter-protest at the Westboro church? Maybe a prayer vigil outside? Or would that just feed into their need for attention? Um, I think I may have answered my own question on that.

No one will ever convince me that these lowlifes believe this. They are clever con artists looking for attention and loving every minute of it. Has nothing to do with a their "church" which is probably a tax dodge, nor with God, gays, or anything but themselves, for that matter.

Those scumbags are so full of hate, that it wouldn’t surprise me a bit if they sent BOR’s check back, and pursued the father in court for payment!

I thought there were some “biker types” that were “standing between” folks like this and the funerals. If there are not, then there should be. Nice “cause” for the Harley-Davidson folks I’d think.

I hope BOR and others don’t let it stop at that. The fact that those #$%&*@s were allowed to do what they did is horrible -— and that the poor family has to pay the court fees??? What in hell is going on?

Yes, I’m pleased that BOR did what he did. Were there others, I wonder?

Still find Bill O’Reilly to be a self righteous A-hole.
