The great elaborator: Obama gives 17-minute answer to health-care query in N.C.
By Anne E. Kornblut Washington Post staff writer Saturday, April 3, 2010; A02
CHARLOTTE -- Even by President Obama's loquacious standards, an answer he gave here on health care Friday was a doozy.
Toward the end of a question-and-answer session with workers at an advanced battery technology manufacturer, a woman named Doris stood to ask the president whether it was a "wise decision to add more taxes to us with the health care" package.
"We are overtaxed as it is," Doris said bluntly.
Obama started out feisty. "Well, let's talk about that, because this is an area where there's been just a whole lot of misinformation, and I'm going to have to work hard over the next several months to clean up a lot of the misapprehensions that people have," the president said.

The Flim-Flam President!
And people have the nerve to criticize Bret Baier for his recent interview with Obama and trying to get him to answer the darn question.
He has always reminded me of Professor Harold Hill.
(If you are old enough to know who that is).
What we have here is healthcare in River City!
If you can’t dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bull.
W. C. Fields
I recently attended a luncheon of the Heritage Foundation at which Paul Ryan spoke. The difference between his speech, which was full of facts, and one of Obama’s is striking. Obama always speaks in generalities with assertions seldom supported by fact.
"stall stall stall, it's a wonder people didn't leave the place buying sham-wows and a slap-chop"
Does this pretty objective piece indicate that Ms Kornblut realizes that the President is not a great communicator, just doesn’t get it and is in fact tone deaf? I am sure that someone will recognize that those who talk way more than needed are covering up for something. Hard sells seldom work on those with real questions.
One of a good looking(from a policy perspective) crop of young Republicans.
With a capital T, and that rhymes with P, and that stands for Piss-Poor.
What a magnanimous ass! Obama will save us from ourselves. Arrogance knows no bounds. It will be his undoing-and so richly deserved.
He is tall, attractive in an craggy Irish way, and a fitness buff. His manner is a bit shy. Like someone who says: OMG, if I am not careful theywill make me run for president and I am not sure I want to go through all that!
Is there a transcript somewhere of this? I could not bear to listen to it, but curious as to how he managed to go on for so long...
Tax Paying Citizen: Mr. President, In what way is your program not socialist?
President Barky: Yes! That is a good question. A very good question. A very good question deserving not just an answer but a very good answer and I will provide just the good answer that your very good question deserves. How are we to learn the facts of anything if questions, good questions are not only asked, but good answers are provided to those questions. It does not bother me to have questions asked of me or my policies. It does not bother me to provide answers to these questions. I in fact welcome the questions because I have the answers. Never let it be said that I duck any questions. I hope to have answered you question. Next!
Other tax paying citizen: Mr President, how can you say that the healthcare bill is paid for when in fact it involves all sort of accounting tricks that a business owner would go to jail for attempting.
President Barky: Yes, that is a very good question and like all questions...
Right here we got terrible, terrible trouble....
Well, God bless Doris for asking.
It’s a shame, though, that she couldn’t get anything approaching a real answer. At least he didn’t give her his usual smart*** kind of reply (like his Armageddon remarks the day or so after the monstrosity passed).
To say that his answers often seem sophomoric is an insult to sophomores; I’ve seen quite a few with a much better ability to answer questions.
I have thought so from the start, with the exception that Harold Hill seemed to actually like people and ended up showing us a warm fuzzy interior which Obama clearly does not have.
Obama is too stupid to know that he doesn’t know what he thinks he’s talking about. As I’ve always said, he has a sophomoric world view, much like the average know-it-all university student who has little real world experience and who has mistaken the personal viewpoints of university professors as accurate information. Laughable.
Yes, even sophmores don't usually bow down, flip the finger, and eat their boogers in public.
America, what a catch. You sure can pick 'em.
"Number one is that we are the only -- we have been, up until last week, the only advanced country that allows 50 million of its citizens to not have any health insurance," he said.
Apparently 20 million people have lost their insurance coverage since Obamacare passed.
Guess it isn't working.
I'm old enough to not be able to remember who it is.
What a frikken idiot. Comparing the United States to countries like Sweden and Norway (total populations of 10 million and 5 million, respectively). Or Canada even (33 million total).
But we already knew that.
The dims and libs with any brain cells shall wake-up soon.
This is what happens when there is no teleprompter.....
A 17 minute lie. Why am I not surprised?
Socialists love to give long talks. Fidel Castro could talk for hours to his enslaved people. Soon we will be forced to listen to Obama’s long winded talks.
