Jobless rate may rise as many are drawn back to labor force (Media covers for stinky BO)

The increase in jobs highlighted in the nation's most recent unemployment report carried the sound of economic promise, but Obama administration officials said Sunday that the public shouldn't expect any dramatic improvement in the jobless rate, largely because of the effect of thousands of "discouraged" unemployed people who have resumed their search for work.

Some economists assert that the unemployment rate, which held steady at 9.7 percent in March, is likely to be driven higher...

Hold on, didn't the MESSIAH promise an unemployment rate no higher than 8%??

We need about 188,000 new jobs every month just to keep even. 162,000 jobs added is still losing ground and creating more unemployed/underemployed.

40,000 or so jobs are temporary jobs with the Census. They really should not be included in this number.

The Obama administration, like the Clinton Regime, has a dirty habit of hyping the intial jobs report numbers, then quietly revising them downward in later months. This 162,000 number is, most likely, inflated.

During the Bush administration, if jobs were added and there was economic growth during any given month, the liberals complained that it wasn’t enough, and that millions were still grappling with poverty.

With this president, the criteria have changed. Now the evaulation being made is that things would have been a lot worse than they are if not for Porkulus and the enlightened policies of this administration.

And don’t forget, Obama inherited the worst conditions ever inherited by one president from another president.

It’s obvious that the liberals are not using the same criteria to judge this president as they used to judge the previous president.

So according to the Obama-worshiping Post, unemployment going up or down is a sign of recovery? I don’t think Pravda was this bad in its heyday.

All those temporary government census workers sure are a blessing. Thank God we get to pay their wages, too. By golly, without government workers, what would we do with all that extra money? Waste it on something like our own families? (/s)

A large number of the workers went for training and a paycheck and then quit!

??? We've been losing close to half a million a WEEK. We need over 11 million new jobs just to get back to the "failing" Bush economy.

BTW, are we better off now than we were 4 years ago? (A rhetorical question, of course.)

This so called job increase, is actually the current employment of government census takers. People can work them and not lose any benefits they already have. Very short term indeed. Most all of the effects that are lauded by Obama and gang are the direct result of of things, ... like cash for clunkers, money for down payment to buy a home, credit card bailout,( so they can run it up again. ARGH!) and hiring short term government employees ... fixing pot holes etc.

If people want to be fooled, want to believe in a HERO , they refuse to see facts.

God help us in our day, in Jesus name, amen.

The question that ought to be asked everyday until November is:

“Are you better off than you were 3 years ago?”

This nation elected Democrats to rule the Congress in 2006. January 2007 is precisely when everything went south.

Yet we constantly see on FR on how the MSM is on a deathwatch. Just look at Ras’s poll today. They are thriving and vibrant.

Interesting that the MSM did not report on the number of people that gave up looking for work while jobs were being lost. In other words, there were months when there were actual jobs losses or miniscule job gains but the unemployment rate went down because the size of the labor force was depressed since so many people just gave up looking for work. The media only touted the decrease in the U3 rate, not the statistical aberration that the rate went down because so many people gave up looking. Now that jobs were added and the rate did not decline, the media is all over the labor force number that shows some of those discouraged workers are starting to look for work again. And, of course, has anyone ever heard the MSM report on U6, which is 16.8% according to BLS and 20.3 according to Gallup?

It means that Americans are seeing more jobs being created and that they're optimistic about their prospects. But the supply of new jobs -- 162,000 in March, the biggest monthly increase in three years -- will accommodate only a fraction of the unemployed. HUH????

From Msnbc...

Job report creates
hurdle for Bush
Companies added just
96,000 positions in Sept.2004
In a report seen as a political blow to President Bush, the Labor Department said Friday the economy added just 96,000 jobs last month, far fewer than projected. The final monthly employment report before the Nov. 2 presidential election fell short of estimates it would show about 158,000 new jobs, although the unemployment rate remained unchanged at 5.4 percent, as expected.

"Jobless rate may rise as many are drawn back to labor force"

Aha, herein is the truth that gives the LIE to the LIARS in this socialist regime. They claim that the UR is 9.7%, but when you look at discouraged workers who've fallen off the other end, the number is MUCH larger.

We're squarely in negative record territory when it comes to those out of work over 27 weeks.

PATHETIC. How long must we suffer their LIES?

“In a report seen as a political blow to President Bush”

In a report seen as a political blow to President NObama, it was been confirmed that MAObama is indeed a socialist liar.

I can dream, right?
