Congress is legislating without practical limit. They delegate the details to unelected agencies, so they can plead ignorance, and get reelected. They control state governments with bribes using borrowed money which will never be paid back. The state governments ignore the gold and silver clauses, among the strongest in the Constitution.
I believe an Article V convention is worth a try. The objection that it will destroy the Constitution is invalid, because it's destroyed already.
If the states, using Article V, cannot bell the cat, THEN it's time for more traditional methods.
