WASHINGTON, Ill. (AP) - Sarah Palin criticized President Barack Obama on Saturday for saying America is a military superpower "whether we like it or not," saying she was taken aback by his comment.
"I would hope that our leaders in Washington, D.C., understand we like to be a dominant superpower," the former Alaska governor said. "I don't understand a world view where we have to question whether we like it or not that America is powerful."

Touche on the Bummer!
Keep on hitting him Sarah!
.
Drip drip drip goes the jabs.
What a limp-wristed Red Diaper Baby!
I wonder if Michelle dresses him.
.
You mean not speech-reading from a teleprompter???
Yes, No carefully scripted appearances by TOTUS!
Obama leaves himself open for it once again. For being such a brilliant speaker, he certainly has trouble presenting himself as the leader of this great nation. As he would say “like it or not” he is. And I don’t like it.
Even on this story, the AP Goebelsesque strain shows through.
Look at the headline: “Palin taken aback by Obama...” That is placing her in a shocked subservient position, an LSM fantasy. Disgusting.
Sarah Palin is great. But................
I JUST WISH SHE WOULD STOP THE CONSTANT RADIO ADS IN ARIZONA PRAISING McCAIN.
“I would hope that our leaders in Washington, D.C., understand we like to be a dominant superpower,” the former Alaska governor said. “I don’t understand a world view where we have to question whether we like it or not that America is powerful.”
Hoo-hoo! The title for this story *should* be “Sarah takes barracuda-sized bite out of Barry’s backside”
Man, I love that gal.
When he says "we", he's speaking of himself and his communist and muslim brethren.
As a wise man one said “There may come a time when the lion shall lay down with the lamb, but I still want to be the lion.”
There’s a perfect example of how Sarah dances around an assertion, rather than going in for the kill.
Instead of her over-generous “hope” that Obama wants America to be powerful, she should have said: “I hope all Americans will ponder what it means, for an American President to say that we are a superpower, ‘whether we like it or not.’ I hope all Americans will ask themselves, ‘Do I want, as Commander-in-Chief, a President who considers it doubtful that America ought to be a superpower?’”
I have to say I disagree somewhat here. Being a superpower is an expensive burden. Why should we involve ourselves so heavily in domestic disputes in other parts of the world? Why do we keep military bases all over europe and japan? These are rich countries that can defend themselves. If our close allies are attacked, then we should send aid, troops, whatever-—but why should we have part of our paycheck taken every week for the defense of Germany when Germany isn’t at war?
Well, he does wear Mom jeans...
I'm coming to agreement with you on this one. Germany doesn't need my granchildren's money. Last time I was there the youts were yelling that they even wanted the American toruists to go home....so be it.
Palin Ping List Ping
Palin taken aback by Obama ‘superpower’ remark
Life would be so much easier for Ozero if we were some podunk EU country with no global presence or clout.
Hey, he has to have goals huh?
0's not a brilliant speaker, he's a brilliant presenter. Take away the prepared remarks and the teleprompter, and it's all, "Uh, . . .", "Mmmm, . . .", and off-the-mark banalities. Even in many of the "interviews" he does, with the questions and answers prepped ahead of time, he comes off as being lame and vague.
Without the teleprompter, he's the goofy almost-"professor" who doesn't really understand the material, but has a desparate need to convince the students he's smarter than they are.
Those look like the ruby slippers.
I want USA to be #1, so SP is still spot on but I agree that a little more George Washington in foreign policy would be very nice.
In some ways, our military all over the earth is like another entitlement, only for the whole world. Years ago after WWII and before fall of USSR, it could be more justified. But conditions have changed.
Because they are staging areas for trouble spots in those regions.
yes the MSM didn’t even get this right. He is no orator. He has a “pleasant” voice that would work well reading the news for NPR.
It is amazing how clueless he becomes as soon as he goes off teleprompter.
I have a feeling the msm will slowly ignore Sarah and begin to attack the talk show hosts. It’s already begun with bubba being sent out to reprieve his THE OKC BOMBING WAS RUSH’S FAULT.
Reagan: “We win; they lose.”
Obozo: “We lose; they win.”
Palin” “Re-load!”
“Being a superpower is an expensive burden. “
The British thought the same thing and disarmed. Not a good result for them.
“Life would be so much easier for Ozero if we were some podunk EU country with no global presence or clout.”
His strategy of course.
Obama believes in his own superpower presidency, but wishes out nation to be a humble, bowing empty shell of its former self.
As Samuel Adams said: No people will tamely surrender their Liberties, nor can any be easily subdued, when knowledge is diffused and Virtue is preserved. On the Contrary, when People are universally ignorant, and debauched in their Manners, they will sink under their own weight without the Aid of foreign Invaders.
The past few speeches I’ve seen her give, her intro music has been Kellie Pickler’s “Red High Heels”.
= )
Human nature never changes and never will. The only way to ensure peace is through strength. The only way to project strength throughout the world is those military bases, that Navy, those missiles, that air force that the USA citizens pay for. A world war will cost 20-100times more than any amount we are paying now for defense.
You can call that “dancing” I call it refreshing that a national leader understands the people are smart enough not to need 2nd grade level discourse,
further, the media already tried to ignore Palin after she resigned. Palin’s book tour brought that effort to a halt. Palin has a way about her that ensures she will not allow herself and her message to be ignored.
I expect an Obama backtracking “what I meant to say” moment at any time.
But they are and they do.
nope the American population is one of the smartest on the planet
No need to shout, we 'hear' you ..... those would be McCain ads, not hers.
McCain's needling her, imho .... using her endorsement, and using it enough to erode her popularity in Arizona at the same time. Little bit of venom there from the old man.
Face it, McCain: You're old, you've made big mistakes (like palling around with liberals and other people who didn't respect you), you've alienated the people, and your "constituency" is going to be reduced to your family, by the time you die. And yes, Sarah's the future, and you are not.
When he announced to the world that America will not be using nuclear weapons no matter what weapons others might use against us, pretty much eliminates us a superpower in the eyes of the world. It was this deterrence that kept our enemies away. However, Obama views America as inherently bad and thus he seeks to weaken her without even taking into consideration the safety of our international friends and allies in Europe and in NATO. Eliminating our nuclear arsenal in Europe will put our allies in serious danger.
Pound on him Sarah. Every chance you get.
It is getting harder and harder for the drivebys to ignore you.
Palin bump!
The lefty spin is that Palin misconstrued what Obama said and that she’s too stupid to understand someone that smart.
These people are amazing.
They’ll say literally anything to defend this idiot.
Of course, the MSM is now starting to say the same...
So predictable.
Thank you, Governor Palin, for continuing to say the things that can only come from a true leader guided by uncommon wisdom.
Good job! That's why I post 'em.
