The tea party seems be nothing more than old white people worried about their wallets. Sorry to say that. But I did use the word ‘seems’. They are quite easy to malign and for somebody like myself I haven’t found any reason to support them. They have whined a lot about their fear of the federal government, whined about their tax fears, etc. They hold signs proclaiming a love of freedom and democracy—etc., etc. I would support them only if they address concrete issues. For example I have yet to hear them clearly oppose our immigration policies, affirmative action(a slap in the face to democratic priciples), the abuse of ‘hate crime’ laws, and other issues like these in a clear sense. To cry about taxes, Obamacare and federal powers makes them seem selfish(as they use medicare and social security) and makes them easy to mock.
This is the exact description of Dionne and the chattering class; affluent, better educated and more influential than most Americans. Dionne is so blinded by his self-presumed superiority he fails to realize his opinion makes the case against his own station and argues against those with whom he associates.

I’ve yet to read a Dionne column where he didn’t impugn the motives and characters of anyone opposing his beloved leader’s actions while studiously avoiding any discussion of the issues that motivate the conservative protesters. Dionne is either too ignorant to defend Big Government or he’s just another argument-less lib whose first line of defense is ad hominem attacks. I aasume conservatives debating Dionne in person always check to see if Dionne doesn’t have a pie in his hand.
The conceit of these fools is that if Obama was totally "white," nobody would be protesting his policies. Which, of course, is so absurd that it barely deserves a response. For a lot less socialist actions (and being a lot whiter despite what Toni Morrison claimed), Clinton got regularly hammered by conservatives.
One of the methods of proving or disproving a theory is to assume the opposite, as you have stated.
So, Dione, you’re saying that significantly fewer people wouldn’t be opposing the policies of 0bama if he were white?
But I thought conservatives were brain-dead uneducated neanderthals with no indoor plumbing!
What a complete jerk like Dionne doesn’t seem to realize that ALL! Americans are privileged to be living in the greatest country on earth. Every time I hear that “white privilege” bunkum, I’d like to make any so-called “person of color” (what an awful phrase) go to some third world country where everyone looks like them, and see how many privileges they have. Let’s ask the Mexicans who are being forced out of the homes and cities by the drug cartels how privileged they are.
