I haven’t had time to read up on this yet tonight... I’m preparing to do so right now. I just wanted to get back to you right away — I wasn’t trying to impugn the research you’ve done. As I said, I’m not aware of it, but I will read about it after this post as I said I would in my original post on the thread.
I ONLY had a problem with what sounded like people trying to use a fundraising post on a racist website as “proof” of someone’s association with them.
The reason this got ME so upset is because I once found something I wrote on that website doing a Google search, and I will say right now — I completely abhor all of their racist beliefs, and think they are the scum of the Earth to think that the color of someone’s skin, or what religion they belong to automatically makes them inferior. It’s absolutely disgusting to me that people are stupid enough to think that way.
It makes me shudder to think that I would be told that I was involved with the group simply because someone liked what I expressed in an article, and that person happened to be a racist scumbag, and they happened to decide to share it with their scumbag friends.
It would be like saying if one of our Vanity posts here showed up over at DU that meant the author was a member/follower/zombie from DU!
I hope you get how I’m seeing this particular “slice” of the whole story. It’s clear I’m not understanding the big picture of the article itself, or how you are involved yourself. I will rectify that now by reading more.
As I said in my original post — what I brought up was not meant to defend any one person, nor group. It was simply to point out that just because something appears on a website it doesn’t mean the author, or in this case, the recipient is aware and endorsing it. OK?

Onyx - Do you have any proof that the poster of that particular thread is officially involved with the campaign? If not, then I really don’t understand where you are coming from. I am not defending any person, or group — I’m just pointing out that there is no indication that this was someone working for the campaign that went to the site (it doesn’t mean it WASN’T, but there is no proof it was either). This member posted links to other sites, that’s it. Just like some on this thread are posting links to Stormfront — does that mean those doing so are supporting them???
And man do I hate going to that site. I’ve only been there twice in the entire time I’ve been on the internet, and it’s like I need a shower or something now. Worse than DU, and that’s really saying something... I don’t even want the URL in my browser history!!!
I checked the site to see if the link that was posted here was accurate and the date of their money bomb was scheduled for August 20, 2009. I suppose the only way to check is Randall Paul’s donation filings, but if it was under $200 or is it $250? -— then he doesn’t have to report it. Stormfront supports his candidacy, and if it’s a problem to him, then it’s up to him to reject their support.
You point out that Ron and/or Rand Paul have gotten unwanted links on their site from Stormfront. Well guess what - so have the Tea Parties and even Free Republic itself!
Nobody asked them for that support, and nobody sensible wants Stormfront's support. But all I'm saying is that what's good for the goose is good for the gander. You're using the EXACT same line of argument to unfairly smear Paul that Olbermann & co use to smear the Tea Parties as "racist." If you hate Ron Paul, fine by me. I think some of his foreign policy views are wrongheaded too. But argue against his positions on their merit. Don't take a page out of the left's playbook and blame him for unsolicited support he got from the kook fringe.

This doesn't even make sense. This thread isn't about Sarah Palin. I didn't mention SP, rabs didn't mention her and AFAIK no one on this thread has mentioned her. On top of that I am a big supporter of Sarah Palin.

Yeah, I personally like Sarah, so that annoys me, too. I don’t think anyone is perfect, and she has a better chance than any 3rd Party (or 3rd party-perceived) candidate. I’ve taken folks off my Facebook lists because of the annoying bashing she receives via the Liberals (and others) — I just couldn’t take it anymore, frankly...
[I’m reading her book right now and finding it interesting, but then I do like bios and auto-biographies no matter who it’s about. :) ]
Actually, she was mentioned in a post to me by SoCalPol... I just happened to respond to that post and it ended up right below yours... It actually gave me a little chuckle when I read your post above mine... :)
