President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama will depart Friday at noon for a vacation weekend in Asheville, N.C. But their two daughters, Sasha and Malia, are staying home.
The Obamas regularly visit the presidential retreat at Camp David on weekends, but when they do, it's always as a family, which includes the first lady's mother, Marian Robinson, who lives at the White House.
The first couple has no publicly scheduled events during the getaway, but according to NBC's Chuck Todd, a White House staffer suggested to the president that he could use the trip to meet with potential Supreme Court nominees outside of Washington. Obama nipped that idea in the bud, "Don't you even think about it," the president said.
How nice for them to be on never-ending vacation....
Lord forbid he do anything other than making endless speeches, vacationing, or alienating allies.
I wonder how much this is costing us and what the real purpose of the trip is.
exactly what i was thinking....did the bushes spend this much time vacationing and traveling for personal reasons....seems this putz is never in his office actually working...he is either vacationing or campaigning...

I live not far from the area and report that the Sheeple have gone crazy for their would be King. Where they are staying is a place 90% of Americans would not be able to afford to stay at. They personify the “ME GENERATION”. It’s all about them, let everyone else eat cake. Maybe they can attend one of the local Bible believing Churches, this Sunday in the area and “Get Saved”. A term they probably never heard Jeremiah Wright preach.
Anything to shake the mantle of the presidency.
Really? I think I can remember only one time that I read that they would be going to Camp David.
