Times Square Block Shut Down

NYPD closed off streets from 42nd to 47th along Broadway in New York City. Police shut down a block in the heart of Times Square Saturday night after receiving a call about a suspicious car fire, delaying some Broadway shows by more than an hour.
The call came in just after 6:30 and as of 9 p.m., 45th Street between Seventh and Eighth avenues had not been opened. When police initially responded, they saw smoke coming out of the car but no fire.

Police said a bomb squad investigation was on the scene and that the car on fire was a sport utility vehicle had license plates that didn't match the make of the car, raising suspicions.
On one of the theater district's busiest nights, some shows, including "The Lion King," were delayed by an hour or more, according to the Broadway World website.
Oprah Winfrey was in attendance of the new hit "Fela," being shown at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre on West 49th Street, and the production began on time and wasn't interrupted.

For years I’ve been saying the Muslims can shut down NYC easily with 4 people. Just have them at different corners of Times Square with machine guns. You can hose down 5000 in 60 there. Then have your cohorts advertise that something like this will happen every week. People will stop coming to NYC , theaters , restaurants, shopping . The economy there would crash over night.
I agree and that scares me. This guy failed, others have failed, but it takes just ONE time to be successful and especially now with a President who does not give a damn about protecting us and an Administration who coddles terrorist countries, we are screwed. I did hear one broadcast that was from the Chief of Police, he ordered all Station houses to be checked for suspicious packages and unattended cars.
There was a list of other locations also, but the general order is “All suspicious packages and unattended cars”
are to be checked.
Some of the Officers are re-assigned, but did not say where.
Homeland Security (i.e. Janet Napolitano) will publically announce on May 7 that this was a serious danger to over 100,000 people. Just like it took her a week to come forward about the catastrophic danger from the oil spill in the gulf.

I also asked why POTUS was not yanked out of the “party” to be available in event of a co-ordinated set of bombs
..of course no MSM will ever put that question to this president

It is quite a mixed bag in that vehicle: blackpowder, petrol, and propane tanks (one report claimed that the tanks were for acetylene). The idea may have been to use the black powder to iginte the petrol and start a fire that would heat the propane tanks to the point that they explode.

Another possible scenario would be car fire, accelerant causes it to be fully involved very quickly, fire units approach to fight it, tanks cook off. Just knowing “what” doesn't tell us much. How it was configured is the issue.

I also read some messages back about how they found some nails outside the car..reminds me of what suicide bombers do in Israel..its not the bomb itself that kills people, its the shrapnel and nails that kill them
